Even with next-generation volleyball games such as Summer Heat Beach Volleyball and DOAXBV, Super Spike V'Ball still has the premier gameplay engine that allows anyone to become a king of the beach.
Catchy music loops on as you pound spikes at unsuspecting opponents and blast them backwards. The rapid button-tap for power is easy to do, and the simplified two-button control scheme works wonders.
Super Spike's biggest attraction might lie in its four-player capability.
This game stands as my favorite NES games of all time, even just above Tecmo's Bad News Baseball.
