best graphics for SNES
we have a thread like this for the nes, but what Im interested in is the snes. which game had the best graphics?
I agree with that.
2 words: Demon's Crest
Gonna have to go with Final Fight. The sprites and the detail that went into the game was very good IMO.
Super Ghouls n Ghosts, or like Chrono, or FFIII, maybe even the
Castlevanias
Those games had better graphics then all of the games mentioned.
I like your style. Also, the graphics in that game.
Metal Warrior deserves at an honorable mention. Just look at it!
And that's just the opening sequence.
Flashback also deserves a mention.
(I used this screenshot for the background game so the sprites are missing)
an honorable mention. Just look at it!
And that's just the opening sequence.
Exactly, what does the GAME look like? You don't judge the graphics of say... FFVII based on the cut-scenes, do you?
Super
Castlevania IV had some badass graphics, except Simon, he looked straight queer
an honorable mention. Just look at it!
And that's just the opening sequence.

The game looks a'ite. But it's nothing special.
i wouldn't say Queer, or anything like that he just looked a little , Different,
The game looks a'ite. But it's nothing special.
a'ite? A'ITE?! it's Lucasarts, man! Besides, screenshots never do a game justice.
And I'm going to post a compelation of in-game screenshots once I finally beat the game.
Donkey Kong Country series. Man was I astonished by the graphics back then.
I like the graphics in Illusion of Gaia, specifically Freedan and his flowing cape.
Killer Instinct
Chrono Trigger
FFIII
All of the
Donkey Kong country games
Rise of the Robots
Clay Figther
Konami and Capcom I think had the best handle on the SNES graphic engine w/titles such as
Castlevania IV,
Contra 3,
Batman Returns, Final Fight,
Street Fighter 2010 Series, Super Ghouls n Ghosts to name a few...
and yes
Donkey Kong was impressive...albeit w/prerendered cheater graphics...and nobody has mentioned Starfox?! first true 3d polygonal expirience of the 16 bit generation...on rails..
I disagree on Starfox. Revolutionary 3D, yes. Eyedroppingly gorgeous graphics, no. While it was cool, the 3D engine couldn't artistically hold up to games like
Final Fantasy VI.
' as the best looking game of the 16-bit era.
I think it even has 'Vectorman' from the Genesis beat (although Vectorman has that awesome gunfire lighting effect). The graphics are photorealistic in places (look no further than the brick wall on the first stage). Excellent explosions and a high framerate.
Check it out if you ever want to be "wowed".
Now if only the game play wasn't so generic.
That game does look sweet.
If the gameplay's generic, but the graphics are good, I'd want a rocking soundtrack. Like with Bio Metal.
