i can remember back when i was on here before....everyday i would check this place , with plenty new stuff to read.

Now everytime i visit, theres nothing new.

Well, Derek doesn't give a shit about the place anymore, so we've been forced to lock down user registrations.

This has lead to very few legitimate users getting through, so no new topics get posted.

That, combined with the fact that the regulars have pretty much run out of things to talk about...

The NES Files is dead.

Nah, its been like this for months.

Luke pretty much summed it up well....
We had big spam problems so that we had to implement user activation by admins. You were lucky to get through.

The problem is, there isn't much NES news these days.
Now you could try to be more active and revive this place a bit.

I have to say that Luke is right, the NES Files is unfortunately dead. I still come here though, since there is still some stuff to write about and still some nice people to talk to:

Roth, who I haven't seen in quite a while, but still is one of the coolest guys around. He would make anyone with a bad day happy, and that's just by reading his posts on the net.

OneGenerationTooLate, dude, you have got to be the most sassy person I've ever bumped into. Someone post an unnecessary post or just something stupid, BOOM, you're out with a snarky comment. You know what? That is just how everybody wants you to be. Oh, yeah, your hair is great too.

And Jenni, the only female NES fan at the site, but probably one of the ones I talk to the most. Send your drawings to someone and make a living out of it, I order you!

These are the people I generally think about when anyone should mention this site.

I give my absolute best efforts to try to create new topics or keeping interesting topics that are dead, alive. The only thing that I'm a little disappointed about is that I never posted as much as some of you, but hey! Over 600 posts isn't that bad.

I will definitely stay here till the end might come.

But now I'm hard on the mary jane and i've chilled out, spend more time doing things I like rather than ridiculing others for things i may be guilty of!

There's a difference between unemployment and welfare.

You pay in to unemployment, everyone with a job is entitled to go on unemployment if that employment ends. Of course they only pay out for so long, based on how much you paid into it.

Welfare on the other hand is (supposed to be) just for helping people through a rough spot, but it's often abused.

My point exactly. Like if you've got a back injury because of the work you do, or otherwise, you can request welfare.

Please explain how I got it wrong then. I assumed that you got an amout of money after you've sent an application that said that you were unable to work. Like Luke said, this can be taken advantage of, just like if you try to draw a "psycho pension", although you're perfectly sane in the first place. Maybe I've got it wrong, but maybe that's due to the fact that I'm 16 years old, and that I haven't got that much experience in this particular matter. I just rely on what I've scratched up here and there.

It's unemployment compensation, which means if you're laid off from a job because of cut backs or any other reason, you get pay for a certain amount of time until you can find another job. Different from being hurt on the job then being paid while you recover.

My mistake. I was thinking of when they payed you because of an injury, not unemployment compensation when they are cutting back on manPOWer.

Welfare is not awarded because of injury or cutting back on people, you can get welfare if you have never even had a job before (I think)... totally un-related to work, to an extent.

no, its ok, i could care less about post count....
theres one thing about post count that i get, it either shows how long someone has been at the site, or it shows how dumb people can be thinking that they're gods because they have countless numbers of posts.

it's more than post count.. which should be the lowest of your concerns. I think the biggest issue is confusion and unneeded multiple accounts for the same poster.
