Anyone here planning on seeing the new TMNT film?
Anyone here planning on seeing the new
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film? I am. From the previews I seen I am looking forward to this. The new style is nice also!
I also like the preview trailer. Seems promising.
IF they show it in the cinema around here (we only have one (!!) cinema in the 3 neighboring towns), I might watch it with my friends.
But the cinema here just shows crap. Movies we aren't interested in. We wanted to watch the new Rocky and they didn't show it. I fear
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles won't be on, too. Well, this means ye olde mule has to bring in the movie again when the DVD is out.
I don't know if it would be a good idea to just open a "New releases" topic or not, but it is getting a little old seeing "Anyone planning on seeing (insert movie)". Just my two cents.
As far as the movie, I have high hopes for this movie. Doubt I will go see it in the theater but I will probably PAY to watch it, versus the other way . I loved the others sooo much as a kid. I guess I haven't seen them in a long time... Maybe time to download some?
No it wouldn't be a good idea. Guess why? We already have a movie thread that nobody uses..
As for the
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, I'll probbaly get it from demonoid after it's dvd release. I wish they would have stuck to the animated, funny, good natured ass kicking turtles of the 80s though.
Perhaps it is a good idea but should be sticky'ed?!?!! It is very easy to lose topics like that, especially when there are new "off-topic" topics being created daily.
Well I could make the movies thread a sticky, but only if there's much interest.
We already have 3 stickies in off-topic...
But if Aaron is going to post a thread for every new movie out I'll consider the sticky-version.
I am definetly going to see the new
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. They've put the posters up at the cinema, so I know they're going to show it.
I hear you there, man... The 80's style rocked.

I agree. I would like to have the Movie thread become a sticky.

The 80's style does rock. I also like the new one also.
I must say, after being exposed to the original 1984 style turtles and their 2002 comic redesign, I am beginning to realize how bastardized the series got after the cartoon came out, and I always wondered why the first movie felt so different, and it was because it was almost a direct adaptation of the comic. Hell, they cussed and actually used their weapons.
It seems though that with this new movie and the end of the 2003 series, the turtles are returning to their dark roots.
In short. I'm gonna see it.
"The new style is nice also!"
THEY RUINED IT!
I've always loved the ninja turtles. How can they do this to them? looks kind of weird if you ask me.

You are aware that this new movie is more true to the roots of the turtles, right? technically the cartoons and such that we all know ruined it.
There's original, and there's classic. Classic is better.
That's correct. I sent the link to the complete first issue of
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles once here on this forum. You'll see how dark it was, especially compared to the 80's cartoons. The first issue was very similar to the first film, the beginning, the whole plot, the characters and the end. With a little few twists of course. Here you get to see Shredder for the first time as his alter ego, Orouku Saki, a Japanese business man in New York. The ending is sort of like the first movie, when Shredder falls into that dumpster from the rooftop, only here he plans on killing the turtles including himself by setting off a grenade that he holds in his hand. Donatello prevents this by knocking him off the roof with his Bo Staff, we see the grenade go off, which ultimately kills him.
I really like the dark style of this movie. Saw a little preview of it on TV and no I definitely want to watch it.
*No*
Yeah, it's going to be great. I certainly hope they base it more on the old comic books this time.
NOW!! You got me right there. )
My friends and I have an "agreement" now. When they show this movie in the one nearby cinema we'll go watch it.
The next cinema is about 30 miles away.

Yeah, you could edit my post too, but I know you're better than that. I'm going to see it with the two of my best friends too at the local cinema. It's going to be awesome!

I am going for sure. The $10 will be worth it!
I wonder if Luke is planning on seeing this also?
Hopefully Master Splinter will kick some a$$ in this film.
This is a movie I would totally buy on DVD, but last I heard it was "only in theaters" which is unfortunate... I'm undecided if I'll go see it or not. I want to, but theater prices seriously suck...

For the price of one ticket, you might as well wait until DVD release day and buy it at Walmart for a couple bucks more. Plus you don't get the annoying kids being loud factor.
If you wait a year after the DVD release it will be around 10$. DVDs get cheap very quickly.
Why do I always think of Reggie when someboday says that?
Will Splinter kick a$$ and take names?
I have been playing the
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Game for the DS. It's good the load times are kind of long. But I never knew Leonardo was training in South Afreica? Am I missing something here? The film is almost here! This Friday! I am seeing it day 1!
COWABUNGA Bitches!
Yay it's out today! I am seeing it tonight at 7:20 PM!
I just got back and I must say I really enjoyed it. Worth seeing.
Well, the premiere was today, and I saw it. It was in Norwegian, which was cool. I was neither impressed nor disappointed. One thing that I did like though, was that Raph totally kicked Leo's ass!
All in all, it was good entertainment, but a little cheesy.

Hey that wasn't fair Leo was near the edge of the building roof top. And Leo didn't want to hurt his brother thats why he hardly fought back.
And the way the film ended you can tell that there will be a 5th Movie. Master Splinter looked alot different in the film. But he looked alright I guess.
Leo is much faster than Raph, but Raph is much stronger. Yeah, I know, Splinter always change for some reason. Just compare the version of him in the first movie to the version of him in the third movie.
Does this
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film really count as the fourth in the series?
I saw some previews, it looks a bit like a joke..

Lots of websites are referring it to it as the 4th film. I hope they make another. This film was way better then the 3rd one for sure.
The Movie isn't that bad. It's good film for the fans.
