Saddam Hussein sentenced to death
Saddam Hussein has been convicted of crimes against humanity and sentenced to death by hanging.
The former Iraqi president was convicted by a Baghdad court for his role in the killing of 148 people in the mainly Shia town of Dujail in 1982.
His half-brother Barzan al-Tikriti and Iraq's former chief judge Awad Hamed al-Bandar were also sentenced to death.
Former
Vice-President Taha Yassin Ramadan got life in jail and three others received 15 year prison terms.
Another co-defendant, Baath party official Mohammed Azawi Ali, was acquitted.
.
It's good to see he is paying for his crimes. I guess this is another big leap for the US, I mean I guess they won the war on terror?
Yeah, I saw it today on the news. It's good that he finally get's his punishment. Still, I really don't know if I'm down with death sentences...
When I first saw the title to this topic, I was thinking "spam bot" like we've been getting lately.
Thank heavens it's true. It's good to know this bastard is going to be dead. Actually, some torture would be good first, as well, he did it to so many other people.
Unfortunately, this doesn't mean the US has won the war on terror. In fact, since the decision was handed down by the Iraqui court, this is more of a milestone for Iraq than the US, although I'm sure Bushie will try to take all the credit for it that he can .
Death is more prefferable than some other sentences he could have had.
Especially since its so painless these days.
The first thing that came to mind was
"Hang the bastard, hang him high! "
(I know campkill knows this song by heart too....)
*knows what Jenni's talking about *
i think they should shoot the bastard in the knee cap and lock him in a cell with no food, water, facilities, medical attention, etc. til he dies.
Yeah, and have a sadistic mofo walk in and hack off a slice of him every two days. I wonder if the hanging will somehow make it onto YouTube (doubt it, because of their "policies,") or Metacafe?
Oh, dude!
You guys really know about horrible punishments. I'm not really into these kind of punishments, but what the heck. It's Hussein we talk about here! How about put him in a big cell with all the people he ruined the lives of, and give all (and I mean all) these people their own weapons. Then see what happens.

You bring up an interesting thought that I've had about the death penalty for a long, long time, and it would (hopefully) end all debate about it--
I think that ultimately, the decision on whether or not the criminal should be put to death, and the method of how it is done, should be left to the relatives or friends of the criminal's victim. A good example of this going either way is the recent event here where the psycho killed the children in Amish country. The people actually wanted to forgive the killer, and prayed for him.
This way, the government could keep out of it, and 'creative' people like CC and I could broaden our torture idea horizons if one of our relatives was ever dispatched by a nut job.
it'll be broadcasted live on basic television before it gets on YouTube. i expect to see it on ogrish.com if anything.
Why would anybody want to see that?
Come on, everybody wants to see that.
Violence, death and blood are what the people want to see.
Why do you think games/movies with such themes involved sell so much?
O RLY?
But its a real human life being robbed before your eyes, you gotta be pretty fucked up to want to witness that.
My point exactly. I mean, I know this man has caused death and sorrow, but this'll make us just like him in a way...
