Coca-Cola Employees try to sneak secret recipe to Pepsi

In Off-topic

ATLANTA - A secretary accused of helping two men steal trade secrets from The Coca-Cola Co. and trying to sell them to rival PepsiCo Inc. was ordered released on bond Thursday in a blockbuster case her lawyer likened to “a spy novel.”

Joya Williams’ co-defendants, a pair of ex-cons who served time together at the same federal prison in Alabama, were detained pending a preliminary hearing for all three on Tuesday. Their attorneys would not say how Williams knew the two men.

Williams’ lawyer, Wanda Jackson, said outside the federal courthouse that the defense needs to see the product sample her client allegedly stole from Coke to be able to defend her properly. Jackson also suggested the product may not be as secret as Coke has suggested.

That was on the news here, too.
Why should they steal each other's recipe? Aren't they thinking they have the better taste anyway?

When the People went to the Pepsi, Pepsi called the cops!

Pepsi's better than Coke anyways....

Yeah, like Pepsi fans wouldn't notice that all of a sudden it started tasting like Coke...

<----Coca-Cola employee

I have been on paternaty leave for the last two weeks, so I am guessing when I get back to work I am going to have to sign some privacy paperwork or something stupid like that.

Oh well, I don't give two $hits about either company . From what I hear/know they both suck to work for.

Do employees get coke for free at work?

Depends, if you are an honest man or not. Ordinarily no, we might get a free case if there is a new product coming out or something like that.

We are charged $6/case (case = 24 not 12) for off the shelf "fresh" stock, which is supposed to be cans only but they don't care. "Damaged" runs us $3/case .

We also have vending machines that sell pop and candy dirt cheap at the plant. $0.25/bottle of pop, and $0.40 for the average candy bar.

Did you know energy drinks actually do cost about that much to make? We get them at about $1/can from the factory

Still a nice deal I guess.

Wouldn't that be a nice job? Cola tester?
And as a second job bicycle tester. You'll need that balance.

Coke trying to steal Pepsi?

Is that redundancy or irony?

Actually it was coke trying to steal coke

OK, Logandbz, since you're someone "in the know," how is that new Coke/Coffee one they're coming out with? I keep seeing billboards for it everywhere. I know the obvious answer is to just try it, but I literally have to watch every penny nowadays...

It actually isn't too bad. It kinda has a carmel taste to it, instead of coffe. I tried it warm and they told me it tastes even better cold. So, I would recommend at least trying it.

Now, I don't know if you guys ever heard of Tab energy drink? but..... DO NOT TRY IT! It is nasty! and targeted for women

ENERGY drink? I tried it a long, long time ago. It's surely not an energy drink...

You probably tried the of it. The cola is still around at some places. We used to carry it about a couple of months ago.

Tab is disgusting. it's about as gross as Big Red. i've seen the Tab Energy stuff, but i wouldn't dare try it. the name alone... ugh

I once bought a case of Tab (because I never had it before) kinda as a "gross out" joke on myself. I figured it couldn't be that bad considering my uncle's nickname is "Tab" because of his tab drinking habit in the 80's. I have to say it is the most digusting carbonated beverage I have ever had. I had 11 cans left and couldn't give it away. I even went as far as trying to sneak it in my friends bags just to rid myself of it. Usually it just ended up back in the "tab" pile (much to my dismay).

That's my longwinded Tab story.

I can only imagine how gross the "energy drink" one is.
