Paypal question
Ok, I don't use paypal very often and have a question about it.
First off do you have to upload money directly to your paypal in order to pay someone with paypal? This stems from this argument my husband and I were having. He says that you can use your credit card (visa/ect) through paypal to pay for the item that you want on Ebay. Then what would be the point of uploading money to your paypal if you could do it this way???
Somebody please help me.
No, you don't have to "upload" money. If you have the credit card connected to paypal, it just takes it directly from there.
I'm not sure, and maybe someone can tell me if I'm wrong, but it may take longer if you don't have the money right there in PayPal. I personally like to make sure there's money in PayPal so I don't have to check other accounts to see if I have money there.
What I do, is have Paypal deduct directly from my personal checking account. Always keeping my balance at 0. If I buy something for around $50 or less, it has no problem "uploading" money from my checking account, then paying the bill with that same amount. It just takes a day or two longer.
The only time I ever had to have a Credit Card was when I bought something for like $70 that required immediate payment. It didn't deduct from my credit card, just kept it as a "back-up" source of funds.
So, no I have never pre-loaded money into my Ppal account and I have bought more than a couple things with it. The only thing "uploading" money does is speed up the process. I hope all of that^^^ helped.
I have it dircetly linked to my credit card so have never had any money lying in the system and I've never had any problems. I don't think doing it that way is actually any slower. As far as I'm aware the seller still gets the money straight away.
It is slower if you withdraw from a personal account.... The credit withdraws are instant.
With checking withdraws.. I have had almost every seller tell me that Ppal did not send money yet, but, confirmed payment.. It took a couple days later for them to recieve funds...
