Fun with fire....

basically i love playing with fire, and blowing stuff up. let's get some ideas together and blow stuff up

New Years Eve is coming up. such a fun time to play with fire and fireworks.

last year on New Years Eve, i made a flamethrower out of a super soaker. it worked decent i supposed, but i'd like to get a much better one. my idea was only a "prototype" i guess you would say. i bought a $10 pump action squirt gun from Kmart. duct taped a candle by the tip, filled it with rubbing alcohol (i used that because i was too scared to use gasoline, plus i imagine gasoline would eat through the super soakers plastic) lit the candle, and blasted away. it worked pretty good, i set a palm tree in my yard on fire . after awhile the tape started to get wet, making the candle shift, which caused the alcohol to squirt directly on the wick, making the flame go out. and the flame from the gun melted most of the candle down too fast. another problem is the design of the squirt gun i have. it's oddly shaped, making it hard to mount a candle to the top. what i'd like to do is get something else to mount on the squirt gun. something more solid, that'll actually stay. but what? and how? you can't exactly drill holes in it, it'll leak.

i'm going to try it again this year, maybe this time i'll use diesel fuel instead of rubbing alcohol. diesel burns alot slower than gasoline, and alot better than rubbing alcohol. i need some ideas....

if anyone is good at rigging stuff, or knows alot about flammable stuff, give me some ideas. and please, post stuff that you and your buddies have come up with.

I used to play with fire (as an adolencent), but I got in trouble all the time. I never got as far as rigging stuff though, my parents put the kabosh on my whole inner firebug. Maybe it was because I accidently set a fire on the kitchen countertop, or I'd start bonfires in my room (it was a controlled burning, really). But I figure if they wern't so snoopy I wouldn't have had to burn all documents that could be used against me.
Once my brother and his friend started a whole alfalfa field on fire (and you know how big those suckers can be). They were burning porn mags (god only knows why). They did it during a drought too!

I play with fire constantly also. You can get heavy duty wick's that you can mount on the end, that will stay better. I usually just pour gas over action figures and set them on fire, but that gets boring. I've almost burned down a forest.

another thing i like to do....

take a cheap lighter with an adjustable flame (Save-a-lot sells a 5 pack for $1). take off the metal shielding, lift the black tap, so it's off the little white wheel, move it as far as you can to the - sign, push it back down, and move it to the + sign, repeat that a gew times and you can get a nice 6 in flame from a regular lighter

you can do all kinds of crazy stuff with that. it works well if you use the adjustable lighter for the fluid, and use another lighter for the flame. you can shoot fire, make crazy torches out of soda cans..... take an empty soda can, take the adjusted lighter and press the button down so a bunch of fluid gets in the can, then light it was the other lighter. a big flame will shoot out. i did that with a roll of toilet paper once

that's a good idea! how long do the wicks stay lit? how much are they? and where can i get some?

actually now that i think of it, my sister makes candles and has a bunch of wicks in the garage thanks for the idea OGTL

. In about 5 - 10 minutes (depending on how hot your fire was) it will fcking EXPLODE. Now remember when it goes boom it goes boom!!. Seriously that shit EXPLODES. I only did it once and then got theshit scared out of me

Yeah, any aerosol cans are great for that. Never used a full one, even a empty bottle of fly dope explodes pretty nicely. Like 'poo said, make sure you have a REALLY open area.

I used to love playing with fire i could stare at it forever once when i was about 7 years old i tried to burn the mattress in my Parents Bedroom with a lighter and then my Mom walked in and she really beat the hell out of me.

well i think i figured out a makeshift idea for the flame thrower....

i drilled a little hole in the nozzle of the super soaker. my original idea was to stick a match in the hole, but i figured that would be a bad idea as it's really short, and close to where the nozzle. fire could go inside the gun, and that wouldn't be cool. anyways, the stick of a morning glory (a firework that's sorta like a sparkler on crack) fits snug in the hole, and it's long enough to where (i think

it seems like a good idea. hopefully it hold up. when the morning glory burns out, i can take the stick out and put a new one in

that's a nice design! but one problem, my gun looks nothing like that . where you have the Dcwelling (i think that's what it says) is where the pump slides out to. the pump doesn't allow me to put tape all the way around the gun. i think i need a better gun... if i only i could find the one i had as a kid, that one was badass, and would be almost perfect for this.

Some more ideas I thought of and remembered with a friend:

1.Better blowtorch
Instead of using just a lighter at the end of a blow torch take a long stick and light the end of that on fire and use the propllent of your choice to shoot at the fiery stick

2. Silly String can explosion
Its pretty simple yet dangerous although there is no fire involved.
Instructions; take a can of silly string and take turns with a bunch of other people smashing it as hard as you can on a pointed rock. After 15 - 20 good hits the can gets a hole in it and becomes a farkin torpedo. Whoever has it in their hand at that time will definitely get some excitement

3.(one of my favorites) Rubbing alcohol balloon
Take a little bit of rubbing alcohol at a time and put it in your mouth, then spit it into a water balloon. Do this until it is the size you want it to bethen tie it shut. Find a concrete or cement slab, sidewalk or wall and cover it with gasoline or watever and then drop a match on it. Take your balloon then, STAND BACK, and smash it where the flame is. What will result is something very very awesome!!

4.(im pretty sure you heard of this)Fire on your hand
Very easy thing to do, spray some hairspray on your hand and light it. For the first couple of seconds it burns without hurting you!!

All of the above I have done though there is one that only the craziest of mutherfckers do.

I have only see that on videos on the web never in my own life.

Find a concrete or cement slab, sidewalk or wall and cover it with gasoline or watever and then drop a match on it. Take your balloon then, STAND BACK, and smash it where the flame is. What will result is something very very awesome!!

it might be easier to just put the balloon over the tip of the bottle and squeeze it into the balloon... i think it'd taste better anyways

another cool idea with the rubbing alcohol balloon would be throwing it in a bonfire

I'm too much of a weakling/sap/pu**y to play with fire.
Although I do find it strangely alluring....

A couple more:

Get a pop can (SODA) And cut off the top, so you have an open cyllinder with the bottom still intact. Tape it onto a 4' stick, and then get a firecracker. Tape it to the inside of the pop (SODA) can, light it, and point the stick at somebody, or an animal. The firecracker resounds inside the tin can, and makes a f*ckin loud bang!

Just grab a lighter, and whip it at a stone object. Kaboom.

Oh yeah, fill a plastic waterbottle with flammable liquid, and put the lid on tight. Kaboom.

another thing that's fun is putting bottle rockets in PVC pipe. you can make a bazooka with it. it's so fun to shoot it at people.... or a target

i don't think that's a good idea. thr gasoline will probly eat away at the balloon. if you do it, do it fast. don't make them a couple hours before you're going to use them. make them like right when you're about to do it.

fun can be had with sparklers as well. 24 of the big sparklers taped up with electrical tape so they're fully enclosed other than one sticking a few inches up in the centre of the top. Stick it in the ground, light the top one, and get back.

Yeah i tried that multiple times too..... never got the BOOM. just the fire ball.

Speaking of sparklers I remembered when we used to duct tape them to our skateboards, then light them and ride around. Same with smoke balls and crackle balls. I have a carzy neighbor who every 4th of July buys dozens of red devils and gives them to us and we all shoot em at each other .

By the way your never to young to burn stuff .

and we used to shoot NES ROMan candles and bottle rockets at each other

Anything involving liberal amounts of stuff and fire will do wonders. Especially matchheads.
