Google has been coming out with new products, new alliances, etc. They've been growing at a very good rate it seems. Well, Yahoo came out and made a comment that basically said Google is trying to be like them, and evidently Microsoft has made comments about Google as well. Obviously it's all propaganda by these companies to make Google sound like less than what it is. Proof is in the numbers. Stocks for Google has gone up, and Yahoo's have gone down. Just because someone did it second, doesn't mean that it can't be better I've noticed how awfully cramped... say, Yahoo's main page is. When you go to Google's main page with the customizable news options included, it's not so "cramped." Just something I've noticed. Anyway, here's the short article:

I am definitely for Google. Yahoo has to much crap, like the news and stuff. I want to get in, get out, and go, and Google does that. Plus a search of "nesfiles" on google will show this as the firs link, but the same search on yahoo doesnt even SHOW nesfiles or forums.nesfiles.

I use Google alot more. Does Google have its own web browser now?

I don't use Yahoo! At all. Google usually gives me what im looking for.

Yahoo will always have a fond place in my heart. Back in 1995 when I first got internet access I had no idea about how to "surf the cyberspace". I was such a noob, all I had was a couple of website addresses and I had no idea how to get to other places other than using those websites links. Then I found Yahoo. This was my first experience with a search engine and I was like "OMG this place can find anything!!!". This changed my whole net experience as I could now look up stuff like "boobies" all day long. I stuck with Yahoo for about the next 5 years; I had a shitty geocities site, played lots of Yahoo chess etc.

But I haven't been there for years now for the reasons the rest of you gave really. There's too much junk there. Google seem to have got it right in realising that they are first and foremost a search engine. True they have branched into other areas now but it's not in your face every time you go there.

well the ONLY time i want to surf the net and find what i want the only thing i ever feel like using is google. IT is so accurate and finds everything you could want. Yahoo..well. I dont see a need to use that really. Google is just better so i dont see the point in using the other search engines. And i didnt even find out about google untill 2001. But before that i use to use lycos but google just is so much better.

I gotta see that, even if it was one of those sites that was done in haste when you were younger! Could you give us a link? If not, could you give a briefing on what the site was about?

Unfortunately it has long been deleted. It was a site for the band I used to be in. It was basically just a comedy site taking the piss out of the band for our friends amusement. I made it in a couple of hours using Frontpage on the college computers. Seeming as I had no experience it was pretty bad. I remember the background being bright pink!

Usually when Im searching something, it's habit to go to google.ca. I like it because when I go there, theres maybe 10 or 20 things on the page. Yahoo's page is totally filled up.

For images, i also go to images.google.ca, but if I cant find what i'm looking for, I go to images.yahoo.ca

I like google a lot more for searching.
Only sometimes I use yahoo for searches and only when I can't find anything good with google.

I've used Google for a while now. Before that, I used Lycos. Google gets the results i'm after. And it's how I found this site
