Regular, Mini, or Nano
I was looking at the iPods at apple.com and I was guessing, if you could get any iPod Which would it be?
I have a iPOD Mini. I have 406 songs and still have over half my gigs on it. so unless you are 100% sure you can fill more than 1,000 songs, dont get the 20+GB iPOD.
I got the Mini iPod Too! I got it yesterday and I bearly have 201 Songs in it
Personally, I'd get a 4GB Nano. same storge as a mini, but mega small, and a colour screen.
The ipod nano screen is very weak I heard. Some people say you get scratches on it only when you put it in your pocket.
I probably need a 20GB player. I also want to use an mp3 player as an external harddisc. And I have way more than 1000 songs to store.
I'd go for the 20gb regular ipod. This is mainly as I have loads of C.D's that i'd want to put on to it. I can't pick just a few to put on, I love 'em all!
You do not get a complete 20 gigs. You get 18.5 gigs of storage. I have a total of 3,719 songs on my iPod. I still have 1.7 gigs free. I actually put all my albums on it. The mp3s vary from 160-256kbps. If you want more songs, and don't really care for quality, I suggest ripping at 128 kbps. If quality is what you're after, I suggest 192-256kbps.
I'm thinking the Nano. I saw one, and MAN they are tiny. I honestly don't think I even need 4GB for music, but the shuffle would be kind of annoying.
EDIT:
I've got all of the mp3s on my mp3 player ripped at 96kbps, and it doesn't differ much from the higher bit rates. It only really makes a difference when you get down into 32-64kbps that it makes a whole lot of difference.
96 is evil. It makes the cymbals in music sound like windshimes or crystals. That's the best way I can describe it. 128 is the way to for 1/2 decent mp3s.
Nanos are too small i think. Id get a 4 gig mini.
but but,....no color screen....
Really? Fuck that! 4 gig Nano!!
but but,....no color screen....
I find no use for a color screen, You cant see music

You don't have to get all defensive.
