NDVDP
Ive got a old nes, with the motherboard completely shot, and i plan on gutting it, getting a small DVD player, and taking the casing off and mounting the unit inside the NES.i will propably take the LED and put it in the NES LED Place, and if i can wire the
POWer button to the DVD player.
1. open nes lid
2. Press "Eject" (Will be placed around the AV and
POWer jacks)
the disk tray comes out, Place DVD in. Press "eject".
Press
POWer
Ready to roll
Anyone reccomend Any cheap, Small DVD players that would fit inside a NES casing?
What do you guys think?
Ill call it, the
Nintendo Digital Video Disc Player
go to Goodwill. I got a DVD player (no
POWer cords) for 15 or 20 bucks. ...I broke it when I moved though so... its gone.
Well, i havent had any luck finding a DVD player. SO i might just get a CD player to
Hook up to my amp downstairs. Although, i did find this link while searching for MOD guides on google. Check it ouut.
I recently bought a cheapo DVD player that may work just perfectly... it's TINY, and can be had for under $40 CDN new.
unfortunately I bought mine from a pawn shop, so I don't know where you'd find them...
Mine is a Diamond Vision DVDV805-03 progressive scan, s-video, component, coaxial audio... hard to beat it for the price.
try target, walmart or a used appliance store. that's a great idea if you can pull it off!
As NES-Luke suggested, pawn shops are the way to go, but if you are still having no luck, my friend bought a DVD from Walmart for like $40 CDN.
Here is one for a very good price:
It's the American site, but I'm sure you get the picture.
Here is some more under $50

Mr. Luke, that is exactly the player I recieved for christmas.. and in the last couple days, I've turned it into this:
It was hell getting everything to fit, I had to cut the inside up a great deal, and re-solder new wires from the Video/Audio board back to the main board, because they werent long enough. It works just fine, but I don't reccomend trying it unless you have alot of tools, and aren't annoyed easily.I used these tools:
Soldering iron
Drill
Sandpaper
HACKSAW BLADE to cut butcher the inside to accomodate the disc tray..
pliers
side cutters
hot glue gun
screw driver
I also used the soldering iron to melt plastic that was in the way.
The NES LED is soldered to the LED points of the DVD player. I couldn't get the
POWer or reset to use the functions of
POWer, because the switches on the DVD board where these weird ass little non-depressive clicking switches that have 4 prongs connected to the board, I used an odometer, and whether the
POWer is on or off, you get the same results. This is what it was reading

Etc. So if you had the point on one of the ones, one two didn't wasn't part of the circuit.
It seemed like it had tiny capacitors that sent that reading to the main board, because it the little board was running 10v, while the main source was 110, and theres a big board of capictors and weird little copper coils that transforms it, I guess. So I just have the IR reciever pointing out of the control ports, and the remote is the only way to turn it on.

Very nice..... What did you do with the NES guts??? Thats a bummer you couldn't get the buttons to work
I was pounding pellets into the motherboard yesterday. I fried it while fiddling around a long time ago.
Where are the Buttons for the DVD player at??
Well, I told you in the original reply with the pictures, the remote is the only way to turn it on.
That is so very cool. I'm sure you could fool a few people with that.
That's the coolest thing I've seen for a long time.
How do you people do all these things?! I took apart a calculater before but this?! *faints*
That is friggen awesome!
Thanks guys!
