Im gunna buy a 1989 Toyota Corolla for $200 bucks and do alot of work on it. this is my first car and I was just wondering if anyone here has ever had a Toyota and are they any good?

Your going to be doing all of the work yourself, right? do you have Any automechanic training? Because dont bring it to a shop. They rip you right off.

yeah, I can fix just about anything. (just not computers) I think all it needs a a new Fuel Pump because I was told it will stall from time to time and they already put new Oil Filter, Oil Pumps and Spark Plugs on it. and I looked and on Ebay you can get a Venom Fuel Pump for buy it now $49.99 USD w/ $25.99 shipping. Fuel Pumps are that hard to change so I think once I get that fixed its all good.

I have know idea, but that would be sweet if that happened! My bro got his Ford Tempo for 200 dollars, and nothing was wrong with it. We got it from our unclue. Then again, it only lasted like 2 years.

But 200$ for 2 years is a great thing. That's under 10$ a month.

yeah, I've only heard good stuff so far about Toyota's and on top of that, Im doing all the work myself and since I've been getting TONS of over time at work Im in hopes that I can trick it out into a nice little tuner. ^_^ only 2 more days and it'll be mine though! I'll post pics then.

Use that $200 on a bike and a damn good lock, it'll do you better.

With the gas prices now, you would be better off with a bike.

lol I know, its anywhere from $2.99 to $3.39 here in North Carolina. I feel really bad for anyone living in Cali right now. My aunt says gas there is hitting about $5 bucks a gal.!

Dang....I envy anybody with a car, even if it is a piece of crap. I can't afford one and the insurance would be sky high for a 20 year old man who's just passed his test.

Mainly because the insurance would be too much (it's a legal requirement to have it, I beleive) and I don't fancy getting into debt

I dont have a drivers license at 20 either, its too much of a hassle.

I got NO bump in my trunk...

NOT a bad deal for $ 200.00.

once I find another job and get settled in some, I'll but a $85 to $100 CD player/6' 1/2" speaker set from Wal-Mart. I had to put a Fuel Filter, Air Filter and add some Fuel Injector Cleaner into the gas and it still acts up once in a while. and up hills, lol I press my foot dead to the floor and it wont even go over 30mph. lol but on flat land I can get about 55mph to 60mph before I slow down and look for cops. (Im normally in a 35 or 45 zone) and down hill I hit 73mph before the down hill started going up... lol
