Horror....
What is the most frightening horror film you have ever seen?
I would go with Sleepaway Camp. That girl's friggin' stare at the end of it still freezes in my mind. I like though how all hell broke loose at the end of the movie, and it didn't show you that she killed off everybody in the camp, but you know she did.
Hellraiser is good, too. Pinhead has got to be one of the most badd-assed movie monsters of all time!
I STILL have bad dreams about them... That movie terrified the hell out of me.
Pet Cemetary was another from my childhood that scared me real good. Even though the sequel sucks.
i used to laugh at Pinhead as a kid, and i still do. hehehehehe
Freddy used to be creepy now i laugh at him too
Jason Another Joke to me.
but Texas Chainsaw massacre, Leather FAce used to be Creepy still kinda is if u think about it, but yeah a smirk this time around,
Michael Myers is another heheheheh guy i think most Horror Films are Funny not scary.
Gremlins. Freaked the hell out of me when I was young.
In the armpit of a bad night, I can always hear the strains of "Do you hear what I hear".
The Shining really freaked me out. I think I was too young when I first saw it.
I gotta go with Evil Dead
I didn't find it all that scary, but then I didn't see it as a kid.
Army Of Darkness is easily my all time favorite film though
The first time I was ever freaked-out while watching a horror-flick was when I first saw the opening to 'It.' Tim Curry did such a good job of making Pennywise eerie, yet inviting to the kid at the beginning of the movie (when he's talking from inside the sewer). I remember thinking how creepy that was.
On the other hand, a really cool horror flick that I like is 'Rosemary's Baby.' This is one of my favorite movies to just pop-in out of nowhere It has a couple of scenes that are edited pretty cool as well.
I HATE that movie... I don't know if I could bring myself to watch it even today... it scared the HELL out of me as a child... I don't know how I forgot it, probably intentionally.
Oh man, Rosemary's Baby is a cool film.
I haven't seen many horror films, but the shining scared the fudge out of me and alien did, but I was really young when I watched that.
I saw the evil dead about a year ago and just thought it was funny but I imagine if I were younger it would freak me out.
theres this one Film i really wanna See it called the Audition, its outta Print which makes me mad, but it looked really cool, with some chick Killing all theses people with , i dunno how to explain it, but i know its ppretty freaky and its not a slasher.
Yeah, it definitely has some sort of freakiness factor to it. Some people have a fright of clowns, so there are some that wouldn't even watch it because of that.
OFF-TOPIC

*Ahem* His music........yes......teeheee...yes......his music....
Age has ravaged his once youthful looks
I saw "It" when I was younger, and I was terrified of it. I watch it today, and the only scene I don't like is at the end of part 1 when the guys kills himself and scrawls "IT" on the walls in his own blood. Scares me to death. Pennywise wasn't all that scary to me after I found out it was Tim Curry who played him. After seeing "Rocky Horror Picture Show", Pennywise just retain a scare factor, I don't care how many evil faces he can make. I still hear him singing "I'm just a sweet transvestite" every time he tries to be scary lol.
"Poltergeist" changed my life.
"Blair Witch Project" changed the way I feel about taking a video camera into the woods at night.
Changes...
The most terrifying movie I've ever seen is The Exorcist.
I used to think that movie was scary, until I saw all the parodies of it. Even on it's own I now realize how hilarious it is. I mean think about it, the levitation scene, for example. After you've seen Austin
POWers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, you can't look at that scene in fear anymore. Example 2, the infamous "pea soup" scene. If ad-libbed properly, can be a barrell of good times .
Still, Regan is the UGLIEST MOTHER this side of hell...while she's possessed anyways, the other times she's hehe...kinda cute. (can't believe he just said that he thought Linda Blair was cute out loud on a forum for christ's sake)
Anyway, for more reference I suggest the following films:
Austin
POWers: The Spy Who Shagged Me
Repossessed
Scary Movie 2
and yes even an episode of the old Disney show "Dinosaurs" is a reference to this often misjudged film.
Dead Alive is pretty cool but not really scary
Dead Alive is F*ing Hilarious
my favorite line by the Priest dude.
"I Kick Ass.. For the Lord"
yea thats my favorite line also
Heh, I've had that sitting about for ages and not watched it. Infact, I have two different films, both called Braindead (/
I guess I'll make the effort to watch it today, especially since it's described as being like Evil Dead.
Ah Braindead/Dead Alive. Now there's a classic. Can hardly be called scary but definitely funny. A couple of my friends were in a band a few years ago and they had this one song which was basically just a bunch of Braindead quotes. Stuff like "Your mother ate my dog" always got strange looks from people who didn't know the source material.
Anyone seen Jackson's previous film Bad Taste? Not as funny but just as weird.
Bad Taste is top of my list of films that I really need to get around to seeing.
Dead Alive is F*ing Hilarious
my favorite line by the Priest dude.
"I Kick Ass.. For the Lord"
And it just so happens that I have a clip from that part of the film.
So enjoy.
ZEN u rock.
I think "the ring" was the scariest I've ever seen, after watching that I went out and started renting a lot of scary movies and was dissapointed in the "scary" factor of most of them. A lot of them were good movies like the exorcist and what not but just not as creepy as the ring.

A bit redundant, no? i havent seen the first one, But i went and saw the ring two when it cameout. Not really scary but it was OK.
Shit not sure how that happened (i'll blame it on AOL) Is there a delete button? And I haven't seen ring 2 but the first was defintely creepy
I've never really been scared by movies. Games, yes. Movies, no. However, I've always admired movies that use to scare you, rather than gore or jumper tactics. As such, The Omen ranks at the top of my list.
Copied directly from a post I made at Nightmare Cult where there was a similar topic:
Poltergeist - scared the shit out of me.
The Excorcist - Great movie, creepy but it didn't scare me too badly
The Ring - It didn't really scare me, but left me truly disturbed by the end of the film. Excellent movie.
Disney's Fantasia - Although this is one of my favorite movies, I get this really eery feeling every time I watch it.... I don't know why.
Thats it until I think of some more.
Edit:
The original Night of the Living Dead
the end .....shudders
Off-topic for one second:
Shadow, your sig looks familiar. Is it from one of those Lovecraft-inspired paintings?
Nope, I just slapped it together in Photo Studio 2000 with some pre-made background I have this sig at alot of other boards, is it possible you saw it at another board or something?
No, just reminds me of some paintings.
Alright, I got a few horror tidbits you should watch out for. First, if you can possibly find it there is a film called Boogeymen 2. I saw this on Sci-Fi Channel last night and it was AWESOME! A must for horror fans.
Another gem to watch for is called "The Dead Hate the Living". Zombie fans will love this gorefest. There are lots of subtle inside jokes and little easter eggs to watch out for.
And finally, an old classic, "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2". This movie is HILARIOUS! Not really scary, but very entertaining.
Speaking of Sci Fi, I had no idea Bruce Campbell was in so many of their crappy original movies (in which he is inevitably cast as a wisecracking smartass we grow to love).
When I was younger the movie Phantasm freaked me out.The tall man , the little people , and the spheres all scared the crap outta me.
Ah, Phantasm I friggen loved that movie, theres just so many unnecesesary parts and its hillareous.
