Ipod
I just got one of these. I've managed to fit a ton of music on it and still have 17 gigs left.
I love this thing. Best invention in portable music.
We have an older one that hasn't even been used yet. It's a 10 gig iPod. The funny part about it is that my wife entered her name in a drawing at a radio station, as well as our son (who was I believe only 2 at the time ) My sons' name ended up getting drawn, and there was no age restriction on it! Ha!
I would quite like one, but they cost too much
Awsome, I am cheap so I got the 4gb. I have around 130 songs on it, mixed between heaveymetal, rock, rap, and industrial
I've thought about it. Why, you interested?
For sure man. I have over 500 CDs and about 50 vinyls. I know I can fill up my 20 gig easy. I can put that spare 10 to use.

I'm planning on buying the "Creative Zen" (Zen, not Z.E.N... ) player with 20GB at the end of the year. The price fell under 200$ at amazon now and I hope it may drop one more time.
I think it's even better than the ipod because the battery time is quite long.
How long can an ipod run until you have to recharge it?
8-12 hours.
That's not too long.
The customer reviews on amazon and other pages say that the "Creative Zen" player (I wrote above) plays up to 24 hours without recharging.
I'll buy it when I come back from Japan... should there be any money left.
Here's a pic:
I think the design is ok. Not very special, but not ugly, too.
Im thinking about getting an iPod 4gig that holds about 1,000 songs on it. but are they really worth it? they're about $200 bucks here where I live. and if so, does anyone know where you can download music for "free"? I checked out Napster and they want $10 bucks a month plus 80-99 cent per-song you put on an mp3 player. Im looking for something where you pay around 30 or 40 bucks for one year of unlimited downloads or something "free" if thats even out there anymore. any help would be cool, thanks.
Try

Napster actually has 2 different plans one with unlimited downloads for $15 or so each month. The catch is you have to use one of their compatible players that knows if you're paying your monthly fees, once you stop your songs won't play anymore. This would be cool if you want to download bazillions of songs and listen to them just a coupletimes before getting more.
The other plan is .99 per download and then you "own" the song. This works with any player.
The only draw to ipods is that they can run the itunes music, which is still the biggest site out there, but others are closing fast. I just bought a shuffle yesterday, which is my first ipod.
well I got a 4gb Ipod and so far I think it is the best think to hit music since Heavy Metal. well, Im off to go put more songs on it. I think Im just gunna stick with iTunes to get music. I still havent even got a song yet, Im still putting some songs from CDs I like on it. I've got 159 songs and Im busting out more CDs tonight to upload more on there. ^_^
*EDIT* 222 songs...
Why use iTunes, when you can download free music off many sites?
Such as:
Windmix
Limewire
Kazza (think thats how you spell it) Light

I believe he meant iTunes has the mp3 player, not the music store.
No, i think your quite wrong actually. he said to GET music. Which means to receive, i other words, to pay, and RECIEVE music from ITUNES music STORE
And i think its: Kazaa Lite.
Hm, I guess I misread. My bad.
I found this thing called "Blubster" and I like it alot. free music is the best music. ^_^ (like they music makers "need" money to fuel their jets )
