Im not sure if someone has posted this same topic or not, but uh... am I the only one who has been getting emails where ppl in other countries want to transfer billions and millions of dollars to me? its really wierd and getting on my nerves. so, anyone else getting this mess?

I'm not sure, I haven't read any of them. I see the beginning of the e-mail with G-mail, and all the spam I get starts off something like:

"Hello, we tried contacting you recently about blah blah blah..."

I just Delete Forever!

yeah, now if I get anything from anyone that I dont know, it ends up in the trash. its still really anoying to sit there and pick out what you do want and what you dont want and deleat and empty trash and arh! its just anoying and I thought I'd complain. sorry.

These are known as 419 scams. They usually come out of Nigeria.

One of the most laugh out loud funny websites I have ever been to is 419 Eater. The contributors make it their mission to waste the time of the scammers as much as possible. Go to and check out the letters archive. In some of them they even manage to scam the scammers out of money.

Yeah, I made a reference to that in the "See this guy rrip ppl off on ebay" thread. It's a total scam. Just ignore it.

It happens to me, and they start it off the same way all the time too!

"I don't want you to feel sorry for me but can you give all your money to my son"

Until now I got 4 of those and all from a guy in Nigeria (allegedly...).

I have gotten some, they are rather funny, typical example -
"My father, Prince Ruttiger Feaces Armadillo Custard the 3rd, stole 3 billion dollars in NATO aid money meant for the poor villagers of our country and after he was stabbed by a gorilla in a botched banana store hold up, I need to transfer the funds to.......................blah blah etc"

lol yeah, I got one telling me to pose as "next of kin" to this german guy who died 5 years ago in a plane crash. I send them something back telling them that I was going to rat them out to the german cops and for some reasson I never got any more stuff about german ppl and there money. I just get stuff from dying ppl in london or dead ppl in africa. I hate this crap.
