May Run (or May 24, or May Long)
For all of you who live in an area that celebrates May Run (whatever you call it), have a safe and fun weekend, and may you catch many fish!
For those who are unfamiliar with May Run, it's the long weekend in May that marks the opening of the fishing season. It is celebrated all across Ontario, and perhaps in other places abroad.
It consists of getting together with all of your friends and going camping and fishing for 3 nights. It involves campfires, playing games, fishing, cooking awesome meals on the camp fire, and more. Traditionally most people consume a great deal of alcohol. I personally bought 48 beer for the weekend. The "No drinking before noon" rule is not applicable.
Anyway, it's not necessary to drink your self silly for May Run. It's mostly about celebrating the opening of the fishing season. Of course, if you're into it, it sure adds some fun to the event.
Anyhow, have a great and safe weekend everyone. I'll be home Monday, tired, tanned, and satisfied.
I've never heard of such customs... sounds funny, though.
