Alone In The Dark... so Lame.
So, am I the only person dumb enough to waste money seeing the Alone In The Dark movie? Because if I am, I feel I have an obligation to warn others that it was very, very sad. I can just hear the writer pitching his idea...
Writer: "Get this, okay? We take an awesome, heavily cinematic game vaguely based in the works of H. P. Lovecraft, completely scrap the plot, and make an 'Alien' knockoff. And if it turns out as bad as it sounds, no one will care, because it's a video game movie, and only those punk kids like those videogames."
Producer: "I like it."
I know the game is pretty cool.
There's a movie to Alone in the Dark? That's news to me.
Thanks for the warning.
I heard about the game Alone in the Dark. I heard it played somewhat like resident evil and actually started the forumla without the guns and stuff of course.
What makes it even worse is that this isn't the first time the man behind this (Uwe Boll) has massacred a game movie and it won't be the last. He did House of the Dead before this, is currently doing Bloodrayne and has announced Far Cry for next year.
Alone in the Dark and House of the Dead have the unenviable notoriety of both being voted in the 50 worst movies of all time at . An impressive feat considering they are up against every single film ever made.

Honestly, I've seen House of the Dead, it wasn't as terrible as people say. CERTAINLY not one of the 50 worst ever... don't get me wrong, it wasn't the best ever, but the people saying that it's the worst ever are either fanboys, or just following the crowd.
I haven't seen Alone in The Dark, nor have I played the game, but I assume it suffers the same fate.
But they're both better than '
Super Mario Bros.: The Movie' and 'Ecks Vs. Sever'.
As for 'Alone in the Dark' (the movie), at least the soundtrack ROCKS!
Has anyone seen the film rendition of
Double Dragon?
Truly a masterpiece....~~~

Ah, burning shame...
the film sounds as good as washing my face with acid
