Mario 64?

Mario 64 was one of the games I got when I purchased my N64 (along with Wave Race and Pilotwings) and I can still remember how amazing it was to be playing Mario in 3D. I'd been reading about the game in magazines for about 2 years before but still wasn't quite prepared for how good it was.

Yea, thats why I want them to do the same with GCN or atleast the Revolution. Personally the Mario sunshine game's story was to in depth. Also at times I did not even feel like it was a mario game because of the water pack, it did to much to make it feel like a mario game. I just want a normal classic.

Mario 64 was so great, I felt Mario Sunshine was a step backwards, even though graphics were better.
I'd like to see a new Mario without new fancy gimmics. Just pure Mario, as _NrG_ wrote already.

Has anyone seen the previews for Mario 128? Its the number 2 for mario 64 which was supposed to be a demo for gamecybe but people loved it so much they wanted a game he has been working on it a lot he says and they dont know if its coming on the G cube or Revolution

Well, being that Revolution uses a POWerPC CPU, and it's claimed that it's backward compatible, it could be released on either one. although I can see it being a launch title for Revolution. and it would be a great move, as long as they keep the simple greatness that was Mario 64 alive.

of course they would most likely put it on the Rev, it's how to get profit from mario fans

well from all the things i have heard is that it most likely is coming to the GC (maybe a final seller for the gc?)

I wouldn't mind on which of the 2 consoles it comes, I'll buy it anyways, IF IT'S GOOD. What I suppose. Can't await it.

man it looks awesome! It showed like a lot of marios (maybe 128? lol) lying on the ground like dead and then i think you are trying to save them! The graphics look just about exactly like mario 64 except maybe a little more polished

I love Mario 64! one of my favorite games to date!

I as well like mario 64. But i just wish it stuck to the 2d platforming style. Seriosly doubt we will see one again . A shame really.

I'd wish to see another perfect 2D platformer again, like Yoshi's Island.

But I don't have much hope left.
Anyway, there are so many great 2D platformers on the classic consoles (NES, SNES, Master System, Genesis,...), so there are still many titles to be played and mourned after...

I think they should stop making Metroid in 3d. I mean i LIKE the games but they arent games i could play over again..but the 2d Metroids..is another story!. i could play those for ever ESPICALLY super Metroid.

another SMB like the ones from the NES would be awesome. Think about it about 50 different maps this time around, save feature, it would be awesome!

i despise what new ultra spectacular grafics and crappy game play they have whith the game cube -exeption of luigis mansion i believe games lack soul love, heart and recently {beauty
its just too goddamn mecchanical!! ugh i cant stand how they made the games so detailed but like i said lacking in heart

It's all about th money now, since Nintendo has competition, there is no such thing as placing heart in a game anymore

This game marked excellence in my opinion. I hope the next mario game has nothing new to it like some water pack, just leave it like this classic. Don't you guies agree?

Agree completely, my first 2 games were SM64 and Cruisin' USA. I got the N64 back when it came out (XMAS 1996 was when I got it, I got it a few weeks after it came out). I think it was 1996, anyway, it was the first XMAS after the 64's debut.
I got 120 stars in SM64 for the first time about 2 days ago It's the file i've had on there for 9 years.
I've been playing it more recently and can't believe i've had the thing for 9 years!
