Well, Luke called it. Sony's wireless PS3 controller has been dubbed SIXAXIS. The Bluetooth supported, USB outfitted controller will be packaged with the PLAYSTATION 3 or can be purchased in Japan for 5,000 yen (US $43) starting November 11th. It is possible to switch the SIXAXIS from wireless to wired controller via USB. According to SCEI, The wireless controller can be operated for up to 30 hours when fully charged.

That same day, Sony is also selling a USB Memory Card Adaptor. It will go for 1,500 (US $13) and can be used to transfer PS2 or PSX game data for the PS3 harddrive. Moreover, Sony announced sales data for the BD remote. Previously, we posted the system's Blu-ray Remote Controller. This will drop on December 7th for 3,600 yen (US $31).



What do you think of the name of the controller? Makes you want to shell out $599 $599 $559 US Dollars on a system with Giant Crab Battles.

Well, I predict, the Japanese won't like the name, because it's difficult like hell for them to pronounce it right.

Why do controllers even have to have names? If it's an ordinary one, just say PS3 controller. Wouldn't that be enough?

To answer the other question:
No, I wouldn't shell out 800$ (that's how much it costs in Europe ) for the system.
I wouldn't even pay that much for a Nintendo system. That's where my fanboy loyalty ends. 200$ is the absolute upper end of what I'm willing to pay for a console.

If I did buy a PS3 which I won't but I would rather play with the Old PS3 controller because it's something new for Sony.

they need to just give up and stick with CD players....

Say your going to buy a PS1 on Lanuch day. All the Hype has got to you and you really want it. So you line up for what seems like hours and you finally get into the store and you pick up the system and a controller memory card and some games you take the PS1 stuff up to the counter and pay, you put all your money you made while cutting the lawn or doing other mindless work and you have your new PS1 system.

Now Let me re-write that for the PS3 Lanuch.

You line up and it seems your the only one in line. You wait for about 6 hours until you find out they won't be opening at midnight to sell you your 3rd "Bundle of Joy" so you say to your self I have no where else to go so I will stay here in line and wait until Morning until they open and grab my PS3 system. So you wait and wait and wait some more and then store finally opens and you go inside. You grab the Good PS3 bundle because you want to be the coolest Fanboy on your Block. So you get the system bundle and some FPS game and take it up to the counter you think to your self this will be the best $300 I have ever spent well since you don't want to look on the internetz or read teh flyerz you think they PS3 will be $300 well you were very wrong it ends up being, $599.599.599+Taxes and they just raised the Taxes in your Area to 20% so your pissed and you end up getting the Wii bundle a few months later.


If they removed the long handles on the Old PS3 controller it wouldn't be half bad imo. I dislike the newer one because it's just a another DualShock Controller oh wait..FTW!
