What system do you think will win first place WORLDWIDE?

It is a tie between REV and PS3.

the 360, because of their early release date. or that could come back and kick them in the ass.

I voted the 360, because Microsoft has really swayed a lot of developers to their favour. They also have Xbox Live, which is becomming more and more popular by the day.

Also, I've been reading that the PS3 is a real pain to develop for, Although the PS2 was as well, but that didn't stop it from becomming number 1.

And the revolution is, unfortunatly, pretty gimmicky at this point. and Nintendo is happy in a niche market. so they really aren't aiming for #1.

The Dreamcast had the early release date this generation but it didn't seem to help as everyone was "waiting for the PS2". Although I don't think that'll be quite the same with the 360.

I think it will be be PS3. Sony are too far ahead at the moment. It could sell on brand POWer alone.

I want to say 360 for 1st, but it depends on how it does in Japan. I think the rev will win Japan, but no where else.

My vote went to the Xbox 360 i was gonna say PS3 but it might cost $450-500 then add games, Controllers and accessories might be way to expensive for some people.

I don't know. This will be a console war where games will be critical, since Bill Gates has officially gone mad with POWer, Sony crippled the PS3 with the lack of online capability, and Nintendo made that bizarre (if intriguing) controller.

The PS3 has online capability, it has something like two or three gigabit ethernet ports.

They've said they aren't going to do a unified system like Xbox Live, which is entirely the reason the PS2 sucks online, because each developer charges more to play a single game online for a month than it costs for a month of Xbox Live, which allows you to play ALL of your Live compatible games online for one fee.

I heard they weren't going to do it at all. I'm relieved.

I think it will be 250 or 275, but not 300 becaue they want it to be cheaper than the 360 and ps3. Also, I think the GCN was 300 at launch, and then droped to 200 at Christmas. (not sure)

Those are my thoughts as well...and Sony Playstation is willing to market more "mature" rated games (i.e.) GTA series, etc., that Nintendo won't. But we all know Nintendo will prosper and be happy anyway.

They certainly sell better than Metal Gear Solid. I believe Hideo Kojima got pissy recently because of MGS3's poor sales.

Of course, Hideo Kojima have the ego the size of a planet.

Nintendo will prosper because Nintendo can survive on "franchises" alone.

And people buy everything with the word "Mario" or "Pokemon" in it.

The last Mario games didn't sell that well. Sunshine was a big disappointment (in therms of sales) all over the world. I don't know that much about Pokemon, but those aren't in the high sales ranks in Japan either (at this point of time).

Also, I wouldn't compare hardware with software.

People all over the world still believe Sony products are good. No matter how crappy products they may deliver (some buzzwords are "rootkit", "defect PS2s" and stuff). The PS2 could easily sell for 99$/Euro, but they still ask 160 Euro for it in Germany. Those f***ing, bastards. Sorry for those words, but a big price drop would be due now. (At least for those people who have to buy a new PS2 because their old broke, which happens often from what I heard and read...)

1st party Nintendo titles are good to great with no exception. At least I don't know any bad game released from Nintendo.
Nintendo was and is always delievering quality contents, and that's why they should survive and keep the game world interesting.

I'm sure without Nintendo I wouldn't be a gamer now.

I think the PS3 will come out on top, but by a slim margin. It's going to depend a lot on price, if the system starts selling for much over $500 in what a consider a "playable condition" (HD, 2 controllers, game?) only adults and rich kids will be able to afford it.

I'd love to see the Revolution be released at less than half the price of the PS3, which is probable.

I'm sure they'll at least take 700$ from you for the machine, 2 controllers, HDD and a game.
Very rich kids (there are a lot I know) will be able to afford this.

Even if I could afford it, I refuse to spend so much money on a game machine.
500$ would even end my fanboyism for Nintendo.
I would not pay more than 200 Euro (about 240$) for a game machine. Even if it's the greatest thing ever and from Nintendo.
