I love to play Nightfire with my friends. Great multiplayer game. Also, don't get WW if you want a challenge,
I'd say skip Wind Waker, and Super Mario Sunshine... I'm not much of a fan of the
Megaman collection either...
Ive played them through my freinds gamevube, and i liked them. I was skeptical of the cel shading at first, and glad they arent staying with it. I played a few hours of both, and i liked em.
Thanks Campkill for the list!
Also, ive heard good things about pikmin, and animal crossing. i dont know what they are, and i would like to see what you guys think about them.
i can't really say anything about Pikmin or Animal Crossing. i've never played either. but i have heard in Animal Crossing you can unlock cool NES related stuff. sounds pretty cool. i might have to pick it up sometime, if i find it cheap
I recently bought animal crossing and it can be fun. Although it gets really repetive fairly fast. The game is doing favors for towns people, either getting them a certain item or delivering a certain item. You dig stuff up and buy stuff and use your GBA to connect for an Island Vacation. WHen you buy it new it comes with a memory card made for animal crossing. You can have a town with four of your friends. You collect fish, bugs, and fossils. You send mail. It's a fun game (especially just wearing the 'moldy shirt') It is sweet to unlock a possible 15
NES Games...including The legend of
Zelda..I think (it may require gameshark for that one) I got DK Math and
Balloon Fight, and I am pretty sure they record high scores.
You said you like normal games, but you have got to get Super Monkey Ball 2 and of course Super Smash Brothers Melee.
Those are the only good games.
If you like Harvest Moon, I could see how you would like Animal Crossing. But I still wouldn't buy it, personally. You can only go out and fish for hours so many times... As far as the NES unlocks go, you can get the same deal with, say, an NES emulator, only it's a lot less work and you don't have to use the analog stick.
Pikmin is ok, but you might as well get Pikmin 2. It's way better in so many ways. There's just so much more depth. It's a lot longer and harder (but not impossible) than the original. Plus it has 2-player cooperative mode. It'll last you longer. Pikmin 1 is short and easy and I got no replay from it.
If you care about replay value, though, Super Smash Bros Meele is the way to go. I don't like fighting games either, but it's easily my faourite GCN game. It'll last even longer if you can get some people to play with you.
Windwaker is pretty swell, even though everyone says not to get it because it's too easy. It's the first
Zelda game I liked after A Link to the Past. The fact that I don't like OoT means you can disregard my sentiments on this entirely, I guess.
I agree with uglyjack inasmuch that you should get Monkeyball 2. It's a lot less mind-warpingly hard than Monkeyball 1. That said, Monkyball 1 is still a game to consider. The mini games in that are fun. Monkey target? ACE!
You may want to also consider a Sims game. Those are amusng enough.
The Sonic Mega Collection is pretty hot, and the games translate well to the analog stick. Sonic 3 and Knuckles may very well be the best game(s) ever created.
Sonic Adventure 2 is addictive also, but it's probably a game you'll only play for a few months, until you either give up on it or manage to get all the emblems. I like it though, and it may be worth a look.
Mario Kart DD is fun also. But only if you play with at least 1 other person.
*(4 players)+gimics= Mario Kart DD
Wow, I'm really surprised that no one mentioned Tales of Symphonia. That game is awesome. If you like RPGs, I defiatly reccomend this one. It's battle system is similar to that of Star Ocean: The Second Story for the PS. I absolutely loved this game. It also has lots and lots of good puzzles. This game is a very good, and well rounded game, not too mention cheap. You're looking around $30 CDN.
You're obviously going to get the new
Zelda, right?
Don't bother with True Crime, it's crap. I'm sure there's a bit where you have to fight a Dragon.
nice equation

ANymore reccomendations? Im not opposed to weird games either.
Yeah, that microphone thing for mario party was really fun. me friend has it, and we played that sweet ass race game where you say "rol, roll, roll!" and shit like that, and the thing "Bullet bill, bullet bill!" haha it was great
Most definatly. This game is awesome. I definatly suggest it. It's a good work out for your arms too.
But if you do get it, make sure you but something underneath the bongos, they are very loud.

When I first got this game. Back when it came out. Me and my little bro, played it for hours and hours on end! And afterwards my little bro was crying because his hands were sore.....The Bongo's take alot out of ya, after playing it after awhile. Another Good Game is Wario World. That was a funy Game don't forget the VJ seris....The seris started on the GCN.
New Mario Party Game with Microphone
Donkey Kong JUNGLE BEAT with Bongos
Donkey Konga Seris with Bongos
Yes, Jungle Beat is a MUST play. Its soooo great. The only bad thing is it is short, but still a must have GCN game.

I don't know. So good games are long.....Super Mario 64....Ocarina of Time....can't think of anything else .
OGTL, if you have the original Sonic's, there's not much point in getting the ones ported to GC.
As for Medal Of Honour games, I have European Assult and it's ok, and rising sun is also ok. I'd probably reccomend getting one if they were cheapish.
Well im getting it early. Tommorow im going to pick up a Gamecube, 2 controllers, a memory card, Wind Waker, Nigth Fire, Need for Speed, Spiderman, simpsons hit and run. ALso getting a sega saturn
Your trading you PS2 in for a PSP too right?
I'm not airfiggy...

Wow, I got really confused there. Sorry, anyways, enjoy your new GCN!!!

Well then you should get Hit & run, there are 49 collector cards scattered along the 7 levels, something like 140-180 wasps you have to destroy, gags to find, and cars to collect. the actual story missions themselves arent that difficult but there are about 3 i had to work on for like a hour each... that god damn free laser one and apu and snake garbage.. couldnt make it in time. anyway i have 49/49 story missions, and 54.3% game completion. working on the collector cards!
I love to play Nightfire with my friends. Great multiplayer game.
I played it a bit, and i dont really like it. Its a bit too complex controls and gimmicky shit. i wish they would have done it like goldeneye, but with better graphics.
I thought Nightfire was o.k.
I never thought it would be good as Goldeneye, especially without Rare involved.
You should get Tales of symphina (yah i spelled that wrong)
it the best rpg on the gamecube

When you know you spelled it wrong, why still spell it wrong?
Is it so difficult to look on the box where it says "Symphonia"?

Welp, it was either start yet another Gamecube topic, or add to one which hadn't been posted in for ages, so I figured I'd pick the latter and hope it was the lesser of two evils!
I was just wondering if anyone else had modded their Gamecube, either internally or externally.
I myself got one of those , and my soldering iron just didn't seem equipped to deal with such tiny and close-together solder points. I eventually got it soldered in place, but turning the 'cube on showed no activity lights on the chip, so upon attempting to desolder to try again, I accidently tore one of the leads it needed, making it near useless to try installing again unless I used wires to connect it (which I don't see ever happening due to the extreme closeness of the solder points). Fortunately for me, the torn lead wasn't a connection between two points, and the 'cube still works fine.
Those Viper chips seem a bit easier though, since they actually use wires and some seemingly larger solder points on the other side of the board. They're a bit pricier, though. Has anyone installed one of those?
