Yes, the PS2 does it also, which is oddly enough why I consider it to be garbage also. although I've never run into it on my GameCube, that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

but play some PGR, that game slows down like mad. Midtown Madness (2?) another fine example. I agree that they're beautiful looking games, but the xbox has it's flaws, that's what I'm trying to establish.

Keep in mind that this is a NES forum, most people here are Nintendo fans, you can't honestly expect to declare the xbox the best and not get flamed out...

How do you determin "best". You can't say something is good merely from it's POWer and numbers.
What counts is the software, the games. Not consoles are good, games are.
That's why I'm sticking with Nintendo. They make games that I love and Microsoft does not. Very simple thing.

Technically it IS a good console. All actual consoles are good - technically.

I know the better/worse discussion and flaming about that problem since the NES and Master System. And it was always the same...

I like my XBox allright, but it's not the be-all-end-all just because it can crunch more polys than the PS2 or (barely) the Cube. The PS2 is an awful system from a technical standpoint, and honestly, doesn't have enough exclusive titles to warrant a purchase. I still don't own a PS2.

I have close to 20 games for my XBox, and almost exactly double that for my Cube. It just comes down to which system has the good games. PS2 has about 5 titles that I'm interested in, and Sony doesn't want to drop the price of their 6-year-old hardware enough for me to purchase a system to play just a handful of games.

Anyway, if you like XBox best because its tech specs sheet has the biggest numbers, well, XBox may be technically more POWerful, but RE4 on the Cube is probably the best looking console game I've ever seen.

If they dropped the PS2 price and sell it for, let's say 69,99 Euro (that's the cheapest cube I've seen), I might consider to buy it.
There are some great RPG titles I'd love to have.
But on the other hand I don't have enough time to play all the titles I'd want.
That's why I stick to my Cube. I can play and enjoy all the titles that I want in my spare time.

When it comes to the PS2, I'm kind of torn. I love playing the Suikoden games, and really want to play more of them. Without it, I can't. I might just get a PS One for those games. We'll see.

I got a Japanese Playstation 1 from my wife's brother.
Are those Suikoden games so good? Then I'll have to look for those. And I will surely grab Final Fantasy 9 when I find it in Japan.

Aw, man! Suikoden one and two for the PS one are some of the best RPG's I've ever played in my whole gaming life! You should try them... everyone should!

I did like fable but it was to easy, like what 9 hours to beat it.

9 hours isn't bad these days. Of course it depends on what genre it is, but if it's no RPG or something, 9 hours is quite normal, isn't it?

You can do it in 9 hours if you go straight through, playing only core quests and not enjoying any of the finer points of the game. I spent about 30 hours in it and didn't unlock everything.

I can agree with that statement a 100%.
Almost every console has good games that are worth playing. For me it's just a matter of the finances. I can't afford more than one big console at a time. And because of Zelda I always choose the Nintendo console.
When I have more monay I might buy a used PS3. (yes, 3) I don't want to buy a new one. Sony won't sell me anything.

Adding to that list- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Shenmue II
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Metal Gear Substance, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Mech Assault, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, Soul Calibur 2 (with Spawn). Some of those were for PC also, so they're not entirely "exclusive".

There's also this unforgettable first-person shooter game who's name I can't remember.

Yeah, both KOTOR games are supposed to be great, but I'm not an RPG guy. I personally liked the first Shenmue a LOT more than II (still haven't beat II), Morrowind is INSANELY boring (got it for free with my PC's video card), Metal Gear Substance is MGS2 with a couple bonus features (like a director's cut), and Munch's Oddysee is easily the worst of the series. SO yeah, Panzer Dragoon Orta is a great game, and Soul Calibur was probably the best on XBox. Haha

Also, I think the FPS that you're talking about is the Chronicles of Riddick game. YES, it's a licensed movie game, a crappy movie to boot, but it's supposed to be one of the best FPSs on the system. Doom III-quality graphics, I hear.

When i hear people say stuff to me like " ah man this new system will have the best specs" I just go eh. And shrug it off. I find myself playing oldschool games ALLLOT more than the new games. And the only new gen system i own is a GC. But IMO i think all systems have their ups and downs. I have no favorite really but if it had to be close..id say snes. but thats just me.

and genesis, nes, gb and dc a llittle also.

I like N64 the most. Then NES, and SNES, and Genisis. SNES had Chrono Trigger, and other great RPGs, but Genisis had Phansty Star series. I think all of the systems above are better than X-Box. (plus more)

Wow, this is biast. Here's a guide for you trolls who hate the XBOX.

1. If a game is currently on PS2 and there are plans to bring it out on the Xbox, make sure to claim that no one will want to play that game by the time it gets to the Xbox. For example, by the time Virtua Fighter 4/GTA3 comes to the Xbox, we'll all be playing something new.
2. Use the reverse logic if it is a game only on the Xbox that may be ported to other systems/PC later. Case in point, Halo. Say something to the effect of "I'll wait for the true version of Halo on the PC". "It will be much better than the Xbox version".
3. Constantly complain about FPS on consoles EXCEPT for Goldeneye.
4. Always use Bill Gates name. Act as if he is the one making the games.
By all means, if you run out of clever or interesting things to troll about, just bring up Mr Gates. Lots of people hate him and will be glad to agree with you.
5. Complain about the XBox controller. Even if you have never seen or used it, it won't matter. People will believe you when you say it's big. Be sure and try to provide a testimonial about your wife or girlfriend or kid who complains about the size of it. Also claiming to be injured by the controller can be the foundation of a great troll post.
6. When referring to the Xbox, try to scew the name a bit. Xblox, eggs bocks, the stupider the name, the more favorable of a response you will get.
7. Be sure and mention Japanese and European sales numbers. If you aren't sure what those sales numbers are, go ahead and make something up. Estimate low, most people will believe you.
8. Although Xbox owners seem to enjoy there games, make sure to comment on Xbox not having any games with good gameplay. Although the Xbox does share some ports with PS2 and Gamecube, it's okay to assume that the Xbox version of those ports has poor gameplay as well.
9. Since the Xbox has nice graphics, be sure and find a way to put a negative spin on this. Using the age old formula that states if a game has nice graphics, it must have terrible gameplay, you can convince people that Xbox games are all tech demos.
10. Defective Xbox stories are excellent to use in trolling. The best part is that they require no proof. I find that "the screen just froze up" works great. Occasionally you can use something really bizarre like "My friend bought an Xbox and it caught on fire and burned down there house. Now they are homeless. F*** Bill Gates."
11. When all else fails, lie. There are lots of people who will agree with you just because they hate MS.

I don't own an Xbox, but the reasons for it sucking are idiotic so far. My Gamecube died after 4 months, so saying Nintendo is any more reliable is a lie. Quit bashing a system just because it came from a supposedly "evil" source, because if we're gonna play the morality card, Nintendo has the least kudos of all. Just an example for you Nintendo die hards, andy one remember the SNES CD extension (which eventually became the Playstation)? Nintendo threw Sony out of the mix because Nintendo wanted to have complete control over licensing the games for their SNES addon.
