Modern Collecting Discussion
Well, the next-gen consoles are coming out, so when the Xbox, Cube, and PS2 game prices drop, be sure to start collecting. After all, today's games are tomorrow's classics. I'd say two sure-fire rarities are Ico and Alien Hominid, given their kinda low sales and utter uniqueness.
So, are any of you guys planning on stocking up? And if so, what games are you eyeing?
Exactly. That has been my plan since i heard about the Rev,PS3 and Xbox 360. Ill be getting a gamecube.
Wind Waker
Twilight Princess
Sonic adventure 2: Battle
Super Mario Sunshine
Pikmin
Animal Crossing
Harvest moon: A wonderful life (1,2)
Possibly double dash
Thats about all i can think of...i know theres more that i really want
Out of the games I currently have, I think War of The Monsters, Giants: Citizen Kabuto, and maybe Psychonauts will be collectable. It really depends how many other people hang onto them. Prince of Persia: SOT did pretty poorly in sales, so I'm glad I grabbed it. I think Viewtiful Joe did pretty well in sales, but the question is will people keep it around?
Thats why i NEVER trade in my games or sell them good or decent ones at least because ONE day they will become rare. And plus i have a GC now after 4 years its time to get a ps2. Im always late in the console runs. But hey im in no rush. When i do get a ps2 im gonna get Suikoden 3,4 ASAP.
I'll get lots of RPGs when the prices drop due to next gen releases.
Right now, I'm building up my SNES and Gamecube RPG collection. After that I'll aim for PS2 RPGs.
GC
Sonic Riders
Sonic Gems
Zelda:TP
PS2
Ico
Socom 2&3
Twisted metal Black
Astroboy
Sega Superstars
Many more.........
Im just now realizing that, if the games of today are tomorrows "oldies" then whats goin' to happen to the "oldies" games of today? I feel old and Im but 17 y/o. My kids are going to be thinking Im 300 years old when I bust out an NES 8-bit game on 'em. Times are changing REALLY fast. I cant be the only one who feels this way am I?
If you take care of your
NES Games, by the time your 40, all of your NGC and PS2 discs will be scratched and thrown away, and your NES carts will still be going strong
