Sonic Rushs onto XBOX360 and PS3
Wow look at that those shots...
man this one below looks really good!
HOLY SHIT.
the speed shots look AWSOME.
I'll be looking for that game on launch day.
Now theres one more reason I want PS3.
Those shots look quite great.
My wife now wants a PS2, because there are some interesting games. Maybe I'll get a PS3 after the first pricedrops, so we could play PS2 games, too.
I'm not sure yet, though. Depends on how fast I get a job after graduation (and how well paid that job is ).

I heard PS3 can't play PS1 games is this true?
That shot does look nice. I hope there's still the loops and what not to make it a "real" sonic game.
Airfiggy, according to Sony has said that the PS1 one games will work on it, but you cannot use the PS1 memory cards on it. If you click on the hardware link under the contents, it gives an explanation of how the memory system will work.
I wouldn't even need playback of PS1 games, because I own a PS1 that can do that.
It's all been hush hush on this for a while, which is annoying as i'm looking forward to it and would like to know more.
Sega is rushing this game for Sonic's 16 birthday. Man I hope they don't screw it up.
First of all, that footage is OLD.
Secondly, it's all pre-rendered.
Thirdly,
Another reason why I won't buy a PS3.
The PS3 has yet to show any real game footage, right? Every supposedly "in-game" video that I've seen looks pretty damn scripted.
Make up your mind
Correct, Sony tried to claim that the Killzone footage shown at E3 2005 was realtime, but Nvidia ruined that scam when they came out 3 months later and said that Sony didn't even have their graphics chip.
First of all, that footage is OLD.
Secondly, it's all pre-rendered.
Thirdly,
I really doubt the figures that say it costs 800 or 900$ to produce.
All the prices in the list are too high.
The BluRay drive will be expensive, but not 350$. Sony produces millions of units, that should lower the price quite much.
And I'm sure all the other components (perhaps except the cell processor) are set at a too high price, too.

No! No! Nooooooooooooooo!
That doesn't mean that the graphics won't look like that.
Even if the graphics looked that good, Sonic games are way to fast to concentrate on the graphics.
I don't know. if they just go with fast gameplay Ill be interested, but has any crappy adventure elements then I wont get it.
900 dollars at launch eh. Well they are charging even more than the NEO GEO did when it came out. ALOT of people arent gonna be happy with this ill tell ya that.
There's no it'll be 900 dollars, people... let's remember that these are just analysts...
Also remember we are talking about cost here, not retail price. It seems to be some sort of modern trend to sell consoles at a loss so I wouldn't get too fixated on this.
It will not even cost 900$ to produce it, so back the truck up a little.
I think it won't retail for much more than a 360 cost at release, which was 399$, right? I guess PS3 will be between 399 and 499$.

That would be my guess as well.
It's still a lot of cash. Dropping a paycheck on a game system is not as fun as it was 10 years ago
What am I saying....yes, it is
a loss, yes. But Sony can't afford to eat $450 per console... and Kutaragi kept saying "it'll be expensive" "We want you to earn it" "we think people will want it enough that they'll work more hours for it"
And then there's the fact that Blu-Ray players are hitting the market at $1800 US for a simple player. the PS3 is supposed to be so much more...
I'm sure there will be players that are cheaper than 1800$.
And players have costlier drives in them as computers. BluRay drives for computers (and PS3s) will be much cheaper at the time the PS3 will come out.
Have a look at this.
It's a Blu-Ray burner from Samsung which is announced for 500$ (that should be around 300$ in production, or even less, considering that the company and some dealers want to make profit out of it). Now a drive without burning capabilities should retail for much less and thus costs less to produce.
edit:
CNET also guessed how much PS3 would be and their lower figure of 725$ seems plausible to me.

Keep in mind that the figures they're coming up with are the costs to manufacture the consoles. Sony is pretty greedy...
That's the best argument I heard until now.
And I think you're right. Sony is greedy. If they make a product which is of the same quality as another one it will definitely be more expensive that the rival's product...
Found some videos: (Newer ones)
The videos are pretty cool. The first ones not too exciting, but the day/night effect is cool, I read about in a magazine not so long ago.
The second is better, there's the pretty cool bit where he runs along the tightrope a bit, but it looks too similar to "windy valley" in Sonic Adventure to me.
Hm... I'm not sure what to make of it. It looks like a blast... but maybe because it's really, reminding me of Jak and Daxter.
So, according to gameplay, this game is coming out on November 24th in the U.K (for the 360) I hope it doesn't stink.
Alright I picked up the 360 version. There is an Adventure map like you can walk around the city and stuff as seen in Sonic Adventure 1. So far for what I have seen and tried (Haven't played much) I am enjoying so far. I will be enjoying this title for sure. My Review of this game will be up later this week.
