Elder Scrolls III Morrowind
I recently purchased this game (the game of the year edition) Couple weeks ago. The world is really huge and theres loads of stuff to do but im horrible at the game. I dont do any of the quest i just go out and do whatever in this greatly made RPG. Has anyone here played this game and have any thoughts about it?
I'm very much looking forward to grabbing the GoTY edition when I can afford an Xbox. I've heard great things.
I dont think youll be dissapointed really even thought it DOESNT have online play wich is a real shame because the world is so damn big. I think and hope youll enjoy it luke but i play the one on the PC.
I think if you play it long enough, you'll find that this is the exact reason why it IS a good game.
I for one don't miss seing things like this on my screen:
Smurfman1645 says: lol, ur a dum455!!! hurrrr!
1337zorz says: STFU FAG0TT n00b!
You hit diseased rat for 2 hit points.
Diseased rat hit you for 467 hit points.
You are dead, you take a 5% experience penalty, you now have 345 out of 36749540 points needed to reach level 2.
On the topic of online play, online 2 player co-op would be SWEET! I would just hate to see it turn into an MMORPG.
Anyway, the boys at Bethesda have been making single player CRPGs for a long time, and new people to the series often ask them to add online play in the next incarnation. Luckily for the longtime fans, they aren't interested in doing that. I'm not a long time fan myself, but I happen to have the same opinion as them on the matter.
I think the Elder Scrolls series is one of the last single player computer RPG series. The Baldur's Gate, Fallout, and Elder Scrolls series are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. The Elder Scrolls is certainly the only 1st person perspective one. I remember Arx Fatalis from a few years back, but that was just a dungeon crawler. I want a big world to explore, not liner systems of tunnels.
I love Morrowind. Hurray for Oblivion! I just hope my computer can handle it when it comes out. If not, I'll have to get myself an Xbox 360 or PS3 if they make versions them.
...
I've got it for the Xbox, the only bad thing about it I'd say are all of the glitches and bugs. SAVE OFTEN. There's been so many times when I'd been playin and then the damn thing froze. Also try not to use the cheat codes, I did once and then was addicted to using them. (restore magic, health, strength).
I hate it. I was getting into Multiplayer Neverwinter Nights at the time, and it totally ruined Morrowind for me.
A human DM in Neverwinter Nights can make all the difference to the atmosphere. The number of times we'd ad-lib something. Like the time I tried to convince a dumb ogre that I was his god by casting a piss poor "light" spell (the only one I had left memorised) on myself to make myself glow. It didn't work, and he broke my head open. Unfortunately he wasn't quite dumb enough.
Or the time we tried to get an idea of what the surrounding terrain was like by climbing a tree (the GM played along and revealed the whole map to us).
NEN is almost like a mini-MORP, where you get the social experience of playing with others, but it can also have the epic feel of a story that is just about you, and your friends.
Compare that to my own brief experience in Morrowind. Lacking much cash, I walked to the town that I was asked to go. I went into the inn, and picked up a napkin. At which point everyone in the bar yelled "Thief" and all ganged up to kill me dead. I hadn't saved, and turned it off in disgust, never to play again.
You mean there's a Quest in Morrowind?
I like to think of it as a RPG/GTA. "Nice house you have here, it would be a shame if something happened to you"
I was somewhere up north in a bar and someone walked in with a glass shield (which I wanted) so I insulted them until they attacked me. "I was only defending myself"
I've been interested in 'The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind' for quite a while.
I'm really into the open quest, free-form game play type stuff (especially in a vast detailed world).
I prefer console games over PC games though, simply because I can't stand sitting in from a computer monitor with my wrist resting in the same position for hours.
However, there's some really cool mods for 'Morrowind' on PC. There's even one where you can visit a strange and frighteneing place called "
Castlevania".
That would be great.
(NOTE: I never even heard of 'The Elder Scrolls' until part 3 came out.)
I liked it on my XBox, but it was very buggy - froze on me lots of times, especially while loading - and it can be very hard to remember what to do and where to go since it's so huge. I like the variety of things you can do in it in general, though.
I have it for the xbox and I think it is a great game. There are just so many things you can do in the game.I also have the strategy guide for it and believe me that really helps when you are in a major jam.
So, if you guys liked Morrowind III, whaddaya think about the new Morowind coming out for the 360?
I got it the day I got my Xbox.
at first I hated it, but as I explored more, and learned just how much stuff you can do, I fell in love with it. though I do die a lot, and get lost real easy.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a good race/class combo?
The new Morrowind looks sweet, i will defenitely be getting next month.
Your getting an Xbox 360?
Yes I cant wait got it on preorder
