Mega Man 9 should explane these questions
Now what I'm confused about is why they didn't make a
Megaman 9, before they started the
Megaman X series? They have made alot of
Megaman games sense
Megaman 8 but still no sign on number 9. If they do make a number 9 it will be called
Megaman 9 to continue the way they named the rest of the series.
Megaman 9 will be an awsome game to come out on every system.....
Megaman 9 would definitely explane
the huge ass gap in the story! For example.....
Megaman 9 would explane..
...What happened to Dr. Light....What happened to the original
Megaman or does he later become X....What happened to Proto Man....What happened to Bass....What happened to Dr. Wily....Was Zero controled by Dr. Wily when he was a Maverik....What made him good....Will he Become a maverik again because he made by Dr. Wily....Does sigma turn maverik because he meets Dr. Wily? So if they make a
Megaman 9 they will have alot of questions to explane but that should make for a very detailed story line, and one of the best
Megaman game there are.

Sigma turned maverick because he got the virus from Zero, and
Megaman could not have become X.
I've always thought that the plot should work like this:
Dr. Wily steals Light's latest, unfinished robot, X. Wily plans to "finish" X with a number of
POWerful weapons systems and use him as a weapon under his own control. Wily is amazed at the number of advances which Light has made with this robot, and doesn't fully understand that X is actually a sentient being.
Megaman would have to go retrieve X, slowly getting upgraded as he does so, like the earlier games. Only the "upgrades" (like a charge cannon, etc) would actually be too
POWerful for him to use, so you'd have to pack them off to Dr. Light to be modified. Then
Megaman would go off to infiltrate Wily's fortress, and eventually his last line of defence: The stolen, incomplete X!
Megaman wouldn't be able to make a dent in X... getting the crap beat out of him... till he recieves a message from Dr. Light that the Reploid systems Wily had intended for X have now been modified so that he can use them, and they're all activated at once... turning
Megaman permanently into
Megaman Zero (essentially making him a reploid) - and infecting his systems with an early version of the virus, though it would not activate immediately, staying latent in his systems 'till triggered.
Unfinished and damaged by Zero, X turns on Wily and kills him, before being deactivated by Zero.
Megaman Zero would return X to Light, and Light would repair, finish and then seal X up in a capsule to run simulations to ensure that he wouldn't be able to hurt anyone again.
Megaman Zero is just Zero, and Zero isn't a reploid. Reploid's are robots duplicated of X.
Zero would be a very unusual "reploid" since he was originally created by Dr. Light, but retrofitted with systems designed by Dr. Wily (based on X's design, so there would be a element of "reploid"), then modified to work with "classic
Megaman".
Of course, you're absolutely right in your statements.
NONE of this is canon, or infact anything more than wild speculation. It's just something I think would make an excellent gap filling plot for "
Megaman 9".
As a nice bonus, it would also mean that the robot you're controlling in the GBA
Megaman Zero games is infact none other than the original "blue bomber"
