Frankenstein NES

My newest NES mod came out better than the Dreamcast Mod

You need a new image host, your current one doesn't allow off-site linking.

I suggest:

OR

Please edit the parent post after rehosting the image.

BTW NES Luke I love the Dancing Megaman... Where'd you score that? ::Copies and pasted it to the theived graphics folder:: Hope you didn't mind that I swiped it!

Thanks for following that simple request </sarcasm> I edited your initial post, since you can't follow instructions.

You could see your image because your broswer had cached it already.

I got the dancing Megaman from another thread on this forum. It replaced my previous non-moving Megaman avatar.

Either way it got done. >Sarcastic smile<

Now that everything is taken care of, I can offer my opinion.

Firstly, it would have looked MUCH nicer had you mounted the plexiglass on the inside of the case, and just smoothed out the edge on the NES plastic.

Secondly, that fan is entirely un-needed, and just makes more noise/draws more current from the components of the NES. I know this because my NES is overclocked, and it doesn't even get close to warm.

Other than that, it looks fairly nice, I like that you didn't use a bunch of stupid coloured LEDs, it looks fairly clean other than my suggestions about the fan and the window.

I have to agree with you on the window.. The fan is pointless but.... you know sometimes how parts are sitting in the parts bin staring up at you from the tangle of wires pleading to be used... something like that.. I think I might actually file the window and the plastic at an angle so I might be able to get away with a perfect fit...

I like it, but it would have been better if you mounted inside like NES-Luke said. I think a fan would be cool, just hearing it when you turn on your nes would seem pretty awesome to me!

Yeah I have to say I like the noise of a computer fan.. Call me strange but it makes me calm just hearing it's happy little whir. I went to pull the plexi off the top and mount it from underneith and I did a little too good of a job of gluing it cause it ain't going anywhere without ripping off a good size chunk of the red paint job. The crappy thing about plastic enamel spray paint is that it's truely a bitch to touchup if you make a mistake. Oh well, all in all I had a fun filled afternoon doing it and in the end isn't that the whole point of modding a system? I'm planning a Sega Saturn mod next to complement my Dreamcast Mod

That's the rough draft I haven't taken pics of the final product.. It didn't come out as neat as I wanted it but the final draft is much nicer looking. I'll post pics as soon as I get ahold of the ex-wife's digital cam.

Nice NES mod! Definetly original.

Hey thanks I appreciate that!

Nice NES! I cant wait to see the final Dreamcast.

I should have pics by like Friday.

This is a close up of the window and lights... Q Bert is the bomb no matter what year your in!! LOL
