Product Suggestion
I'm looking for a small, portable, reliable, older, and affordable television set that any video game system can
Hook up to. Any suggestions?
When I bought a TV I just went into the next electronics store and bought the cheapest they had. My TV was about 100$, not too bad. In Japan I bought a TV-VCR combo fro 9800Yen (80$), which was very nice and handy.
I've gotten three cheap TVs. The first just didn't work. The second didn't even have plugs for AV cables, and none could support my Sega Genesis. We have three TVs in my house, one of which will work with the Genesis. I'm a failure on my own, so I was hoping someone here would know of any consistant brand names.
Wow, you must have bad luck with electronics.
The TV I use is around 20 years old and still works.
Good luck finding a reliable one working for you.
I could tell you some good brands, but I don't know if you can buy those over there, too.
Zenith is one brand that has never failed me over the years, and the prices are pretty reasonable. Even for newer ones.
i was going to recommend Zenith too.
i've got a tv/vcr combo made by Goldstar that i've had for as long as i can remember. that tv's been through some rough stuff. it's been dropped, kicked, drop-kicked, watered, etc. it's still kickin'.
I would say a Panasonic Tv are nice. I had mine since 1997 and played games on it pretty much everyday and it still works great!
Panasonic is very good, but they are not among the cheapest ones, right?
Other brands I trust are Goldstar, LG, Sanyo, Funai, Loewe, Philips.
My dad insisted on me getting a panasonic in my room. It doesn't support Genesis.
how doesn't it support Genesis?
Yea that's what i was wondering too.
But mine does? Maybe a an older model you have?
Nope, new model from Wal Mart. There's nowhere to plug in my Model One. Wierdest damn thing.
This is weird... there's no RF plug-in, or an RCA jack? If you need to get one of those to
Hook it up, just check around. There's got to be some way to
Hook it up, I would think anyway. If not, that was bought because it was a blue-light special or something.
It may very well have been a blue light special, Dad knew that I didn't want a new TV.
EVERY TV manufactured past the point of like.. 1970 has a RF jack. It's just a matter whether you have a RF adaptor for your Genesis
This is an RF adapter, right? I have one.
I'm afraid you need to show us a picture of the back of that TV, even the portable battery 2" B&W CRT's have RF jack.
i have a hardtime believing the tv doesn't have an r/f plug in. that pretty much makes it useless, you can't
Hook it up to cable or an antenna?
I've also never in my life seen a TV without an RF plug.
I was thinking the same thing; I have a tiny 12v battery/adapter
POWered Premiere sitting right by this computer, it has a jack for an external antennae as well as A/V jacks. B&W as well.
STUPID.
STUPID. STUPID. STUPID.
The reason I can't
Hook up my Genesis is because I have an antenna plugged into the RCA jack already.
Complete... unequivacle... mortifying... apocolyptic .
