Looks nice. Easy to carry around. Will it replace laptops? Nah I don't think so.

Interesting. Now, it's not going to , but still, interesting.

Much more portable than a laptop/tablet PC, which seems to be the market they're trying to sell to.

I don't think it will sell well in that market.

The 5 second portion of the clip where Halo was being played on it? Vs. the other 6 minutes of the clip where it was used as an audio player, photo editor, remote, email deVice, and map.

Don't you see that MS is trying to get into the handheld (game machine) market, too? Maybe not now. They will try out how their chances are.
And that starts with a little machine that can do much, but nothing of that really well. Reminds me of the PSP somehow. It plays videos, displays photos, you can surf the internet with it and play games. The drawback is, you need expensive memory sticks to store videos on, videos on UMDs are expensive and you have no TV out, games aren't that interesting. If they were, they'd sell more.
I think it's because of Sony's failure here that MS see their chance of entering this market. But thanks to Sony they also see the risks and try to minimize their risk by also aiming it at people who want to do things with it other than play.

Yep, I'm going to debate the fact that something with the PLAYSTATION name was marketed to gamers...

First of all, this Origami thing isn't even announced yet, so nobody knows what it is or what the intended market is. from the video clip (the only information we have that isn't speculation) I've formed the opinion that it's not primarily a gaming deVice. which I feel is a very accurate analysis.

it's not a DS rip off because it has a touch screen, as I stated, THOUSANDS of things for the past 10 years have had touch screens. from what we've seen, using the logic the two of you are using, we could scream that any mobile deVice that is capable of playing any game is marketed toward gamers. You know, that Apple Newton sure was a hardcore game machine.

I think both of you need to stop being such fanboys, and stop feeling so threatened by a product that isn't even officially announced.

OK, it sounds kinda interesting, but after reading all this, I began to understand it this way...It seems that they belive that this is a totally new feature in all ways, well, it is a new feature, but it's not like it has all the things and ideas to it that the others before it.

What about the PSP, that had a possiblity to browse on the internet with. Yeah, sure it haven't got a touchable screen, but it doesn't make a huge difference to me. However, it's kinda annoying when something new comes out (for example the PSP,) and then all of a sudden something new comes out right after it. So then a guy has used all his money on the PSP, without knowing anything about the new feature. It's their way of making more money I guess...Although I belive they would have gone more far with a little more honesty, or should I call it "information".

Nevertheless, I think I'll check it out, to see just how "revolutionary" this "little" thing is.

I just said that I don't think this thing will have success, no matter at whom it is aimed. Am I a fanboy for that?

And I didn't say it's a DS ripoff. Please read my posts a bit more thoroughly. I didn't compare it to any other machine out there. I just said that everything in there was already present in other deVices (like e.g. the DS or the PSP or tablet PCs).

If something can play games as one of (maybe) many features it WILL be marketed towards players, too. Not that this is a bad thing. I don't have anything against it. That's the market. It would be stupid NOT to market it towards gamers, because those have most of the money and spend it on hardware.

I just want to be able to express my opinion about a deVice like that, without being called fanboy (I am one, but that doesn't have to do anything with my posts above) for no reason.

I think we've grown a little MS fanboy here.

Considering we know absolutely nothing about it beyond some vague propoganda video, yes sir, that does make you a fanboy.

I've said nothing fanboy-ish at all, I'm simply stating the flaws in your logic when you state that it'll fail without knowing anything about the product in question. the only type of fanboy I may be accused of being is an anti-sony fanboy.

I didn't bash that thing. I said I think it won't have success. That's different from bashing.
For me "bashing" means to talk badly about it. And I surely didn't do that.

E.g. I bashed the N-Gage. That's just a bad piece of hardware. You had to take the battery off to put a game card in.

But now enough of this. That's no fight.
