Would you like Famicom cushions?
In Japan they sell cushions of the shape of Famicom controllers.
The cushions are about 40x20cm in size and cost 1500Yen (15$). You could also grab them at Ufo catcher machines.
Dude! That's pretty sweet! I like the way that they made both controllers, instead of just one. That's awesome! I would love to have those!
yeah, I certainly need to get to Japan... there are a lot of things I need to get that I can only dream about here... like NES/FC stuff, from what I hear it's easy to find over there, and cheap too. of course lets not forget all the other games we never even hear about...
If you have money, Japan is surely the land of dreams.
The things aren't that expensive (most of it), but the masses you want to buy become expensive.
This and that and that...
I bought about 200kilograms of stuff (books, games, etc) in 10 months! All what I bought wasn't expensive, but sending it home was.
wow, 200 kilos is a lot of stuff, where did you store it while you were there?
what does the average trip to japan cost? like for a few weeks...you'll have to describe what it's like for us.
It's hard to tell what it costs, because everyone makes his trip individually...
I stored all my stuff in my dorm room. I had 3 big rooms for about 120$/month.
When you have to stay at hotels it should be a bit more expensive. Youth hostels are from 15-30$ a night. That's not bad.
When you eat Japanese food (they have good noodle soups and stuff, everybody can eat), it's not so expensive. And when there's nothing you want, go to Mc Donalds. They're everywhere.
Would anybody mind if I made up my own "Japan" thread?
I could mention how to find video games and stuff and how to look for things, and introduce some of the most famous stores and chains. Or important translations or so...
What do you think?
(This question is especially for Derek and Luke/Roth, the ones in charge here)
I'm strongly in support of a Japan thread, I have a lot of questions about it!
As for the cost of the hotel rooms, that is CHEAP, the most affordable thing I've seen here is $60 - $80 a night, and that's not even nice, or close to anything... and food, from what I've eaten, I like Japanese food. I have no problems with squid or anything like that. seems it could be more affordable than I thought to go to Japan.
The ones I mentioned were youth hostels! Not hotels. Hotels go from 40$ up.
If you want to stay longer at a place there are socalled weeklies or monthlies. You rent them for at least a week or a month. Then they cost about 30$ a night.
Ok, then I'll make plans on a Japan thread.
ah, I must have misread that a hostel is no good... oh well, I'm sure you'll make mention of that in the Japan thread. sorry for the confusion.
What I heard is that Japanese hostels are great. Much better than Western (Europe, USA) ones.
haha yeah thats cool i want one! Japan is so lucky they get all the "Good stuff". Are tehre any nes ones there?
NES style cushions would be great. I mean the famicom stuff is great, but I'm accustomed to may grey little NES.
I don't think there is so much NES merchandise as there is famicom merchandise, though...
