In Super Mario Bros. 2 (our version) what do the cherry do when u collect them, i still dont know what they do?

You have to collect a certain amount of cherries in order to receive the starman that makes you invincible for a short period of time.

The cherries aren't really an essential element of the game imo.

Kewl, si do u have to collect like 100 or something?

I can't actually remember how many you have to collect. I don't think it's 100. I'll have a play around with it tonight when I get back from work and see if I can work it out.

when i collect about 5, a star came out of the ground is that it?

Yeah it's that but nothing special since the game isnt that hard to beat.
