horror movie games...
Right now I'm on a horror movie based game kick, and unfortunately I don't know NES title out there. And so far I've gotten these games:
Friday the 13th
Nightmare on Elm ST.
Jaws
The Toxic Crusaders
Does anyone know of any other American NES titles based on Horror movies and such?
...
I like the way those games look
As for any others, I can't think of any off the top of my head except for
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. That game is simply horrible though. I've been dedicating a small portion of my time to it recently, though. I'm sick of not having conquered that crappy game.
There's always Halloween and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre for the 2600
...
we cant go wrong with the atari Wizard Games (halloween and TX CM.)
Isn't it cool though that you actually play leatherface?
Yeah man, the first time I played that I was like ha!
I remember just wanting to kill all night long ummm....
Yeah, I really think it's cool it was like that. I like the fact that in Halloween there's decapitation and blood... nice for the day
How did I forget that game? With that having been said, I remembered Bram Stoker's Dracula... it's not very good though. I remember thinking
Frankenstein was a pretty good game. I think it was made by Bandai.
The Uninvited for NES is a good one, It's like
Shadowgate but set in a haunted house enviroment.
Well, I have a "horror game", but I don't think it's from a movie...and it's not very good though.....It's called
Chiller.
Again, not based on a movie, but I've seen Capcom's Sweet Home namechecked as being like an 8-bit 'prequel' to Resident Evil, though it doesn't actually have anything to do with that franchise.
Still need to track down a copy of that one, actually.
Unless you're lucky enough to know Japanese, I think you'll be disappointed. It never had a release in English. However, there is an alternative since an English patch has been made for the

Yeah, but it'd still be nice to own the cartridge for a game like that. So many great games that we didn't get in English!
Actually, 'Sweet Home' did get an English version North American release, but it is extremely rare.
Also, a lot of changes were made from the original Famicom game to the NES one (like different characters, different storyline, different various scary things, etc).
Just look at the differences in the cartridges alone...
See the difference?
My god. Now THAT'S what I call a horror game.

I have to admit a very good NES game by the name of
Air Fortress (witch I think everyone here should try) scared me at the parts where you destory the core of an
Air Fortress, then all of a sudden it gets dark and you have to find your airship to escape and as you try to find it the place gently shakes..then gets louder..and louder and if you dont escape in time it explodes. That part always freaked me out as a kid.
Yes, one of my favourite games. See Side scrolling shooter thread.
I could never put my mind to it.
Did anyone beat "
A Nightmare on Elm Street?"
Cospefogo.
Sim, eu tenho.
It's not that hard. I want to beat it with multiple players sometime.
