Which carts aren't working? it could be the lockout chip...
my console is PAL as im from the uk all the games are pal. games like
mario1,2,3
Double Dragon,2,3, turtles etc..
mario1,2,3
Double Dragon,2,3, turtles etc..
Those are the ones that AREN'T working?
yes these are *not* working they load now and again but only when they bloody fel like it! would you suggest i carry out the lockout chip mod ?
Well, if they aren't even giving you a title screen and then resetting, then the lockout chip isn't to blame...
Sounds like you just need to clean out all of the cartridges.
Yeah, just get some q-tips and clean the cartridges connectors. Get the q-tip a bit damp after a while once you can't get any more grime off without water. JUST DAMP THOUGH!!!! Then you will need to dry out your games afterward of cleaning the connectors of the game pak.
I used to wet not damp my q-tips with Windex(tm) and shove them in my Nes and Genesis games.
hmm, I'm sure that works well but you should see the back sticker of a NES game. It doesn't matter though does it?
I know and my cousin used to use rubbing alcohol!
I use rubbing alcohol... and I've gotten games that had been sitting in water for years to work. games with a half inch of oxidization on the pins...
Well, besides that I just have to blow on it.
Well for me itwas Q-tips and blowing on it then it worked for me then i had to keep doing it when it stopped working.
yeah, like these guys said, clean your games. however, it could be one other thing.
i took my old style NES apart and cleaned it out a while back and it became more tempermental than it was before. the problem i think is that i screwed it back together too tight or i screwed it back together when things weren't lined up quiet right. so the problem i was having was sometimes the games wouldn't stay locked down or, if they did, they weren't set in place right and i got the flashing grey screen.
if cleaning doesn't work, try taking your nes apart again and slowly put it back together. make sure everything is lined up and feels like it's fitting into place right and don't screw the screws down any tighter than you have to to hold your deck together.
worth a try.
Alternatively, get a Game Genie, I use it all the time, and never have any problems with my NES.
