There were some pretty bad endings out there. You put time into a game and get hardly any praise out of it. Which would you say had the worst ending?

Friday the 13th, what a poor ending....

Yeah, considering how much it takes to get through that (third Jason is smokin' fast!).

I thought CasleVania's ending wasn't too bad. I like the amusing names that they spoofed from classic horror movies.

One of the worst endings to me would be Karnov. The game isn't that hard, but all you get is "Congratulations, The End." WHAT? At least a scene of something crumbling, ya know? I guess that's better than the SMS version of Shinobi, though. That was nothing but "GAME OVER!" No real recognization that you even beat it! Sheeesh!

Heheheh ja quit few games have endings like that, ah well.

Well by good dodging and acting fast i use an advantage joystick all the time,maybe that's it.It didn't take all that long, i visited all the spots you can go to around crystal lake and light up the fireplaces an jason pops up.

I don't remember if it was 1942 or 1943, but my friend spent HOURS getting through that and it says "Congratulation! Thanks for playing" or something. It was quite a while ago, so I don't remember exactly, but it was definitely just one screen of white text on a black background. 2 or 3 sentences at the most.

at least they congratulated him 1942/3 were always just kinda simplistic hop in and play games. although some fancy colours or something to spice it up would have been good.

Rygar? from tecmo? awesome. I play it on emulator, but I forget stuck in what level...

I dunno, I still think the ending to Donkey Kong can leave people feeling ripped and cheesed off.

I have to say 'Target: Renegade'.

You fight all the the way to the end to rescue your twin brother and -what happens?- he gets abducted again, and you get to play through the whole game all over again from the very beginning (even though you're standing right at the end and could have easily just walked over to the next screen and beat up whoever was there).

It's not exactly a game worth playing through again.

The endings from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Nigel Mansell's World Championship are pretty lame. I liked Rad Racer's ending though.

There's much more to it than just that.


'P.O.W.' actually has multiple screens and pictures and stuff during the ending sequence, so that should disqualify it from "the worst endings evAr" list.

How about the end of 'Shinobi'. The screen turns black and "GAME OVER" appears (and in small text at that). No "good job", "thanks for playing", "congraduration", or nothing.

I think another time Gradius Galaxies I just plain love the Gradius series
except the endings In Galaxies the giant ball of destrustion that u r in the whole time explodes just like the death star and the Vic Viper comes out safely . GAWD so annoying after seeing that 8 times in 1 day

I don't know. They tried to make a cinematic ending for Jaws, and it was horrific. You see him breach, then the screen turns all blue (to show you it's underwater) then you see Jaws fall down (at an angle, so you know he's dead). Then: Congratulations.
I know Shinobi is worse, but Jaws' combo of boring gameplay, pointless gameplay, and ugly gameplay, followed by a half@$$ed ending is somehow worse to me than if the endng was only 'Congratulations'.
