Cool Spot
So I think I'm aquiring a copy of Cool Spot for the NES, but I can't find it listed in any rarity guides, or even find so much as a review of it, the only thing I've seen to prove that it exists is a
NES ROM, does anyone out there know anything about it?
I thought it was an SNES game? If I recall, it was something to do with 7-up(the little 'spot' on the can)... They kinda dropped that marketting campaign many years ago, it seems, in favor of the "up yours" campaign... Oh well...

Nope, this is in fact an NES game, all I can seem to find is info about the SNES one, which isn't my concern
Well, if you have it in your hand and have confirmed it's really a NES cart, I guess you have a pretty rare find!

I should have it in my hands tonight, I'm starting to have my doubts though... I just grabbed the master game list PDF from nintendo, and it's not on there, but I SWEAR the last time I was there that I had it in my hands, and that it was for the NES... I guess all will be revealed in about 4 hours.
if this all turns out to be nothing, then I'm sorry

Well, keep us informed. Nintendo only lists licensed games, so no prototypes or unlicensed games will be on it...

Well, I'm getting in a stack of games from a friend for fixing his computer, he said he would deliver them tonight, so with some luck, it's in the pile... actually, I'm getting all of his NES stuff, controllers, games, game genie, an NES itself, so I guess I can at least brag about the find
I'm doubtful it's a proto though, it had the fancy glossy label on it... *shrug* have to see what it ends up being.
Sure-- brag away. I dunno about fixing computers, tho-- that's a black hole I'm still trying to keep myself from getting sucked into...

bah, it's easy man, in this case the car ride here fixed it
also decided to register, seems like a cool forum. need more members though.
Those are the nice problems. Of course then they call back and say it's not working again...
Cool. We just went live with the forums November 25th-- so we've only been up about 2.5 weeks now. People have been much more receptive of these forums than I expected, and our member base is steadily growing, with a new user almost every day, and over half a dozen posts every day. We're no slash-dot, but stick around and I'm sure we'll have some great discussions. Thanks.

Yeah there's a nes version too, you see them pop up on ebay. It's not that mega common, complete is a bit hard, will be checking one soon.
so the NES stuff just arrived, 24 games, game genie with book, NES max controller (thank god) orange zapper, code book.
it seems it's not 'Cool Spot' but just spot, I thought it was cool spot due to the character on the front, I'll
POWer it up later and check it out, but even if it is a common, I think I did pretty well to score all that for nothing
i have a spot nes cart for sale. cart only no box or instructions $50 game is in pennsyvania.
Can you post a photo?

Derek
give me an email address and i will send pics of it to that address.
$50? the game is only a 'B' probably worth $5...
Ja $50 is mega overpriced, even for complete that's twice as much.
Send it to . Thanks.

That is a fair price compared to the videogame stores in my area. Theywant $83 and that is also just for the cart. Plus thats the only ony out of about a dozen stores i frequent. Should I also inquire at .
Rob B
well holy crap, my collection is up for sale even better, $40 a cart
I would go for that if you had spot or another rare game like stadium events, but that game went for $500 on ebay and I just wasnt tryin to pay that much.
I do have Spot... it's not that special... just othello with the former 7-up mascot dancing around between moves...
Could I contact you through email and also do you accept paypal. I will pay 40 for it if it includes shipping. The only way I can pay is through paypal. Nothing personal its just the safest way.
I haven't got paypal, but I'll do you a favour...
there is no way you should be willing to pay $40 for that game... it's not even rare, there are completes on ebay for $3.50
Thanks for the heads up. Last time I looked on ebay for it I couldnt find any. I may just buy a few and distribute them in my local stores and make a killing since the only one i can find around here if for a wopping $85. Thanks again.
where are you in the world? if you don't mind my asking
Buffalo newyork
Rob
wow, and they want $85 USD for Spot... that is just insane I had it, and 23 other games plus a zapper, NES MAX controller, NES console, and a game genie with book GIVEN to me.
$85 good lord thats a lot of money. I can get that game for 23 at funco land. Granit ebay might have it for cheaper but I dont use ebay. Call me old fashioned but I enjoy goin to the video game stores. Plus ebay seems like it would be a huge ordeal just to get started on it.
Maybe its cheaper for me being Im in California.
well, on the topic, EBgames seems to have a nice stack of
NES Games, I haven't seen anything over $5.99 listed.
Sorry for making this such a huge ordeal. I did not intend to make this forum a lets make a deal forum. Just thought since you guys were making such a big deal out of this game it was worth somthing. If any new comers read this forum then youll know what I mean. I minute people are bragging and calling the game ultra rare then and saying they cant find it on any lists for nintendo. Then I say I am willing to sell and everyones story completely changes, but for as much as its worth ebay always has the best deals, but I do see how the prices vary. It all depends on your local area. Sorry for starting such a huge
Contraversy.
well, it kinda changed, originally I thought it was COOL spot for the NES, it ended up just being spot, which is well known, and somewhat common.
I used to own that game. Good thing its not that rare cuz I sold a lot of 60 games on ebay and that game went with it. It was a ok game if you had a partner to play with, but boring against the computer. On the flipside I was amazed to see how much some of the rarer games sell for.
It's amazing what some people pay for things on Ebay--
NES Games, computer equipment, etc. It used to be that most items were pretty good deals, but these days you really have to hunt to find the good ones...
