BEST GAME---OLD SCHOOL/NEW SCHOOL
Theres been some sweet games out there that have been made to this day but we all have our favorites. Back in the day my favorite all time game was
Megaman 2 and will always have a place in my heart. Now we have new games at the moment that we like to play the most. Mine being
Zelda-THE WINDWAKER. I love the story and the new pixel graphic style. Also the gameplay is spectacular. So what I'm asking to you is what is your all time fave and your new fave?
I like a lot of games equally well, I'd have to say my all time favorite is
Megaman (I can't decide which one, so I'll say the whole NES series)
and my new favorite... well, I really can't think of one that I'd call my favorite on the current generation consoles...
For the moment mine are:
-Nes:
Toki.
-Gb:
Metroid 2.
-Psone: Tenchu 2.
-Snes: Ren & Stimpy,the warp.
Favorites... Touchy question. Let's see...
For NES it'd have to be
Ninja Gaiden.
As far as the newer stuff? Even though it has been out for awhile, I'd have to say
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It's awesome how you can go anywhere in the game!
I always liked
Zelda and the Super Mario series.
In the new days it's definitely The Wind Waker.
Zelda and Mario are my favorite. No matter what game, it's always an instant classic
Atari- Gravitar
NES-
Castlevania II & 3
SNES- FF3
Sega- Golden Axe 2
Saturn- The Mansion of Hidden Souls
64- Bond
GameCube- StarWars Rebel Strike
now I know its just a phase but I recenly required GrandTheft auto, San Andreas for the PlayStation 2 and I gotta give um credit. That game is wicked way better than the others.
What's better about it? I played GTA3 a decent amount, and
Vice City just to see what was different. What's new in SA?

San Andreas is 4 times as big as
Vice city. Thats one better thing about it. More playing time. more exploration and more tasks. Over 100 missions total to beat the game which still leaves you with more to do after you beat it. And a new storyline that is pretty choppy at places but makes the game a good one. More side Missions, new workout ability, more people, more properties, eat to stay alive, and plenty more. If your saying its not that different from the old ones, please check again.
Nes -
Megaman series
Snes -
Megaman X
N64 - conkers bad fur day
Gamecube - Resident evil (all that are for GC) and
Megaman
Nintendo DS - Spiderman 2 and Mario 64 ds
I haven't played San Andreas yet-- I was seriously wondering what's new. It sounds like there's quite a few things, and I may have to check it out. Thanks.

Plus the actually being able to swim in this one is a big plus. The jetpack is awesome as well as the hydra plane and if they shoot you down u jump out and pop open your parachute.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to play GTA SA yet. I am interested to see some of these new features. You can swim! It took a few games to come up with that concept, huh?
Mario was swimming in 1984, dammit!

I've been playing a little San Andreas, and I'm under-impressed, if I were to get any of the three PS2 GTA games it would be that one, but it's not all it's hyped up to be. maybe I'm jaded after having played through the last two, but it's just not that great.
I can see that. Sometimes, the same concept that goes in a series of games can wear thin. If there isn't something substantially different (and better) in some titles, it gets bland. This isn't true of all games, though...
don't get me wrong, there are a lot of solid new features in it, but something just doesn't play as well as say GTA III for example, that game played beautifully.

LOL, terribly sorry on the abrupt response. Got a little defensive. I thought you were putting it down but now I see the different point your coming from. YES I recommend you try it. Took me over 50 hrs to beat. Theres even more to do considering i only have %69.87 or something to that exact done.
Mario was swimming in 1984, dammit!

I think he means it's new for a GTA game. I found it funny how in GTA3 your guy could get hit my multiple bullets, be in big car crashes, fall from great heights and live to tell the tale. But as soon as he hit water he drowned. He really needed to take some swimming lessons.

Oh, I know. I'm just mentioning that the idea has been around forever, so for them not to include it in GTA3 at least was pretty short-sighted or something...
Yes-- dying by falling into the water was definitely the most ANNOYING part of playing GTA3. Even in water that should be really shallow!

My favorite is when a car crashes in the water, but you manage to get out in time. You're left in the middle of the water, standing on the car! "Now let's see if I can make that jump!"
It sounds to me that GTA 3 was the best of them all. Maybe i'll have to buy the double pack. I was wondering if it was worth it and it seems to be.
San Andreas is better than III and
Vice City combined, if you haven't spent much time with the other two. just get SA and forget the others. the only reasons I don't like it is #1 it was overhyped so I was expecting a lot out of it, and #2 I'm getting tired of GTA in general...
yea i know what u mean. I beat all the main missions now im tryin to get an extra 20 bux and some free space. I wouldnt be pissed if i got rid of it. Sure theres more to do but 50+ hrs is enough for me. Besides i even liked kingdom hearts better
Old school favorites...
Atari 2600- Space Invaders
NES-
Megaman 2
Master System- Wonder Boy III
Genesis- Landstalker
SNES- Super
Metroid
New school...
PS1-
Metal Gear Solid/
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
N64-
Zelda: The Ocarina of Time
Dreamcast- Soul Calibur/ Ikaruga/ Half-Life
PS2- Sly Cooper/ GTA 3
I need to finish beating 'Super
Metroid' and someday experience an X-box or GC game.
Dreamcast- Soul Calibur/ Ikaruga/ Half-Life
but Half-Life was never released for the DreamCast.
you're not a *GASP* pirate, are you!?
'Grand Theft Auto 3' set the standard for which all free-form mission based action games are judged, so any many minds it still remains the favorite of the series (just look at all the copycat games it spawned).
'San Andreas' may have improved on a number of things (swimming, fence jumping, etc.) but still owes its core gameplay to what was established in 'GTA3'.
The whole eating and exercising thing is new but I can see how that could possibly detract from the true flow of the game action. I'm also not a big fan of the early 90's "gansta ghetto boyz" theme, and much prefer the retro 80's in '
Vice City'. Tommy Vercetti is an excellent main character too.
'GTA3' is a must have however.
Dreamcast- Soul Calibur/ Ikaruga/ Half-Life

Well it was SUPPOSED to be!
No I'm no pirate. I actually "paid" for it. No actual CD case or anything though.
So that makes somebody else the pirate, and me a "dealer".
(And it plays beautifully on Dreamcast!)
Also 'Ikaruga' is an import.
I can see your point Z.E.N. GTA III and
Vice City were certainly good for a few reasons. and I agree that the eating and exercising does somewhat detract from the flow. I'm also not a fan of the early 90's ghetto junk, but it is a fun game to play. Not as much as III and
Vice City were in their day though.
(I hate
Vice City on the PS2 because it was a rushed, bug ridden piece of trash)
Well that was the point. I have no doubt that 'GTA: San Andreas' is the most well constructed game in the series, it's just not as groundbreaking.
That's why I got the PC version. IT rocks!
And I can play it with my PS style USB controller. I can also upload mp3's to play on the car radio stations and use custom player skins (nothing like seeing Tommy in a Nintendo shirt).
I need to get a PC capable of playing games before I can do anything like that , it's on the list of things I need to acomplish eventually... what a long list

I'll pretend I didn't download all three
Half Life is claimed (and proven by me) to overheat the DC though. After playing for about an hour and a half I opened the disc cover and the dashboad deal was all scrambled and stuff, I haven't played it since then...
