Turn your NES controller into a USB controller for emulation

Got an extra NES controller laying around?
Ever look at it saying, "Man, I wish I could use this thing with my NES ROMs..."

Well, I just came across these links while looking for a gamepad to use with my emulator.

For those of you that have the know-how:
to build one from the "ground-up"...

Yes, I saw these quite a while ago. The second one is new to me, and scares the shit out of me
Though they do look nice, I think my gamepad is good enough, and more comfortable then a NES controller.

I know that retro has been around a while, but i was surprised that they're doing POWer gloves and pads now too.

I wouldn't mind getting ahold of the four score. Even though it's too expensive. The prospect of 2-4 player emulated games with little hassle on all NES controlers is quite appealing.

i've been wanting to get a USB Advantage for a long time. anybody know a reliable place that sells them? i don't really have the know-how to do it myself, plus both my Advantages are getting old and crusty, so i'd want a "new" one anyhow.

yeah, wHoops, missed that post. but has anybody here bought anything from retrousb/RetroZone before? i'd like to hear somebody vouch for them and say their controllers work great before i put down my money.

My order should be here in a day or three...
I got one for NES and another for SNES.

I'll post back after a few gaming sessions with them.

I have bought the standard rectangle controller. No kit, they did all the work for me.
I plug it in and the computer picks it right away.
I have even used it under Mandrake and FedoraCores 2&3.

A little pricey but nice. The ctonroller itself was a used controller, had a few minor dings, but nothing to write home about. I was completely satisfied with it.

If you want a controller for the ocmputer though I'd suggest going the SNES route, it has just more functionality for things other than NES, and it still would work great for NES.

Well, I got my NES controller yesterday afternoon. Works perfectly.
I just wish I could say the same for the person(s) operating RetroUSB.

It took several emails before they would even ship my order.
They kept saying that Paypal couldn't confirm my address even though it's been confrimed with Paypal for about a year...
Then, they didn't even send the whole order.

I'm still waiting for a reply as to where my SNES controller is at.

In a nutshell, this is the first and LAST time I do business with RetroUSB...

I checked out the link, and these controllers look very good, indeed. But has anyone else had similar bad dealings with this company like S3NTYN3L?
I definitely need a control pad, I was playing on the laptop this morning and realized: "Gee, I can wear out a cheap Microsoft keyboard all I want, but once this laptop keyboard is gone, I'm screwed."
If anyone else has had bad dealings with this place, I won't go for it. These things are pretty spendy.

Not so my good man, they can be replaced too.

How's that? It's an older Compaq model. All it accepts is USB; I spent $5 on a couple of Goodwill joysticks and it didn't even have a port for them...But if replacing the keyboard is possible, I might not have to worry (other than getting used to the keyboard; that has been no easy task)!
