Complete NES Rom Set

That's a great thing to post. I got the set from IRC originally, and that was a huge pain.

To anyone that downloads this, and wonders why there are 10000+ files, about half are bad/alternate dumps, and can be deleted with no ill effects.

I would like to know why all the bad and alternate NES ROMs are always in the GOOD NES ROMs sets. I say if you cant use it or its corrupt why include it??

Just for the sake of completion, the Goal of the "Good" sets is to archive every known dump of every game. since it's 7zipped, they don't take up much/any extra space in the archive, but it does suck when you extract 'em.

i plan on uploading some other complete sets. like genesis and snes and such, when i do i will post the links. also im going to be uploading them in 100 meg increments until i purchase some ftp space, just makes it easier to upload on mega upload.

Yeah I agree, bad and alternate NES ROMs are stupid. Who wants something that doesn't work right? I also kind of wish that the hacks were omitted. Personally I only want verified good dumps of official releases.

i agree about the official releases. but then again, i guess i have like OCD or something, i like to have everything!!! just for the sake of having it

PetroToreno, any progress on your other complete NES ROM set downloads? (like genesis and snes and such.) Looking forward to them.

Can we assume that all the files of the download work correctly? (At least the official ones.) For example I sometimes download a NES ROM that doesn't work correctly (graphic errors) and then I download the NES ROM with the same name on another site and it works. But the first one was not a hack or something like that. It was a simple NES ROM with the pattern "Name (U).nes", nothing more.

And by the way, how big are these files when they are extracted?

The NES ROM file that I have is only 32kb. Why wouldn't it fit on a 32MB stick?

How do i download the complete set i go to megaupload and it says like near the bottem

Wheres the timer at i cant see it and when i do download it how do i open a .7z file?

.7z is a compression format.

in the upper-right section of the page there is a text box and image. once you type in the three character code a timer will appear where you entered the code in. once the timer gets to the bottom 5 seconds or so a popup will come and slightly obscure the link you want.
