My New Keychain & A Story...
So I headed out to a local game shop the other day looking for some AV cables for my new Sega Master System. The kid that was working it that day had no idea what I was talking about, and pulled out a couple Genesis cables. I gave up on the idea of getting any useful information out of this kid, and decided to check out the
NES Games while I was there.
This store has copies of Quattro Adventure and Captain Comic (Camerica and Color Dreams, respectively) that I have had my eye on for a while, but they wanted $20 for the Quattro cart and $10 for the Captain Comic. Keep in mind these are loose cartridges, and really not even in that incredible of condition. Well, since this kid clearly didn't know anything, I casually pointed to the Quattro and said "What do you guys want for this gold cart here?" and without thinking, he replied "Oh, that's five bucks."
I said "Well, if this Captain Comic here is five bucks as well, I'll take em both" and he pulled them out of the case for me. When I was checking out, however, a sweet import Mario keychain caught my eye. "Whoa whoa, I better take this keychain too." and he pulled it out and added to my tab.
This is what the kid said about the keychain: "Yeah, those are awesome. I have one too. Awesome little 4-bit Atari Mario."
The sprite the keychain depicts is CLEARLY the sprite from SMB, and the Atari is 8-bit. I didn't even respond to his comment. But hey, I got two more unlicensed games for my collection and a sweet keychain.
I feel embarassed for that guy. But his stupidity = your gain, so it worked out in the end.
And that keychain is pretty damn awesome. It beats my lame nes controller one that was free with a magazine and has faded horribly.
That keychain is awesome...
Now you just have to make sure you only buy stuff when he is working
I just love when they have idiot working that you can manipulate
That's a nice keychain.
And I get the impression most game store guys don't know much about stuff that was before PS2...
nice man! you can deffinatly say you "own3d that n00b"
kick ass keychain find
Stupid modern gamers. Oh well. Nice finds.
Woah, that's a cool find. You're lucky to have a store near you that sells
NES Games and other cool stuff for the NES and other old systems. I don't know of any stores where I live that sells classic games. Only the new stuff.
Which by the way sucks...
