Collecting Differences in the Household
I noticed last night that there is a distinct difference in the way myself and my wife buy games. I'm more into the NES, and she's more into the newer generation of games. We each have a few exceptions of course, but that's pretty much how it is.
What's really cool, is that when we go game hunting, we kind of help each other out. When we go to the NES section of our nearest video game dealer (by that I mean an old school and new school dealer), she looks through them and tries to find games that she has heard me mention before, or one that I'm looking for specifically. When we go into the newer games, I'm pretty much looking for her. As I said, there's some I would like to get that I look for, but it seems that it's mainly for her when we look at the newer games. All three of us are always looking for
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games on any system for obvious reasons Jeremiah also really likes to play GameBoy games (original or advanced), so when we look at those, we tend to look for him.
I think it's a good thing that we all have differences in collecting/gaming. This way we can all experience the differences of each system be it modern or retro. It serves for a well-rounded gaming household... I'm quite happy with it myself
Has anyone else noticed differences in preference for each individual in your household, and do you help each other find the games you like?
Would be nice. No one else in my house collects games but me. Cause im the only Child left.
That's really nice, Roth.
My wife doesn't collect, she just wants to play good RPGs and Saint Seiya games. But! She knows what I'm searching for and sometimes helps me finding cool stuff.
I'm the only one who collects. My brother plays what I buy . My friend though is in to PS2, GCN, and Xbox, and I'm into NES, and N64. We look for each other.
My other half doesnt get why i collect!
Says that i should be paying off the house instead! LOL
yea i have a similar situation my girl likes sega genesis and im all about NINTENDO so its hard becuase i have to buy sega games for her and probably wont play them i just dont like sega to much i guess its the whole 3 button thing
I love NES, my husband doesn't.
A love our Atari 2600, he is neutral towards it.
He loves his Sinclair Spectrum ZX, I think it's crap.
I love my Genesis, he's not overly fond of it.
We both love our PS2, N64, Gamecube.
We have a SNES, but I've never played one due to our
POWer cord was eaten by his cat (before I moved in).
So that's kinda how it works around here.
I collect game systems, computers and tools. (Old or new school working or broken.. I see it I want it.)
My girlfriend collects
Star Wars stuff and Barbies.

Well, my brother doesn't collect ...yet. However, he loves the N64. Now, to exploit that weakness.
