Pretty. But What the hell are they? Looks like some kind of rental cart.

My copy of Golf came in a similar plastic case with quick instructions on the inside front cover. Only, my copy has the original sticker on the cart.

I believe I have a Punch-Out!! case like that, but I don't have the pirate carts to go with it.

Are those pirate carts?
I've never seen such.
Interesting.

It seems unlikely they'd be pirate carts, since the Smart Boy one actually
has full & accurate copyright information at the bottom, and relatively
comprehensible instructions.

They put me in mind of rental videos cases.

Also, there's some copyright information on the bottom right of the image, I
can't read it right, but it does seem like the Quik Play one does have
something to do with a video store. It does make sense that the games
would be supplied with truncated instructions, due to the short span of a
rental.

Likely they were rented and never returned

I can't say as I've ever seen a rental place that swaps the casing on carts...

Those are most certainly not licensed cases, especially the lighter-coloured one...

Notice how the part that is in-set for the label is in an odd place? it's that that suggests pirate to me...

Also, Smart Boy just screams "cheap pirate name"

if those are rental carts, They did a terrible job on them in my opinion.

Hmm, good points. Be interesting to get a look at the boards inside the casing and see if it's an official board or not.

Where did you get them galaxy warrior?

There is no way of saying this without sounding like a retard, but, what are they? Apart from games (obviously) Pirates?

these are rental copies provided by a video rental serVice. as you noticed they do have copy rights both from nintendo and from the video serVice. i have three of these Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, arkaniod and mario 3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is actually not in english. but the other two are. these were used by rental companies to save on costs from nintendo i would assume. due to the fact that renting often wore carts out or they got stolen so these were put in place of that. to be honest they border the line between real and bootleg. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is totally a famicom chip in a nes case. there really isnt any concrete info on these that i havent mentioned. not that site on the web are even acturate. hell toonrific insists that usa cartoon express started in feb of 89 when i know for a fact that it was airing since 84 at least. now that 5 years off. and people use that site as a point of reference which sux. but hell anyway you cut these are very wierd. and by far not common. id love to come across other if anyone has any. and if anybody would like to own one of these i wont part with arkanoid but Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and mario id be willing to trade if someone offered me something niffty. just pm if so. but i just thought id share these wierd carts with you guys.
