CastleVania for the DS
I stumbled upon this article, talking about a new CV for the newest handheld by Nintendo. It tells a couple of new ways to play CV, including drawing w/ the stylus to "chant" spells...
That sounds interesting! I call it innovation. Impossible with the PSP for example.
And if you write the spell wrong, something terrible happens.
I really need to get a DS when I go to Japan. I hope some interesing games are out at that time.
I found while looking around. and I have to say I'm fully unimpressed with the way that looks... I've seen better looking GBA games...
I know graphics have little bearing on gameplay, but at least take advantage of the hardware you've got...
I read about this a while back Yes it is a Direct sequal to Aria of sorrow(woot) I think it looks Fudging awesome!!!
Graphically, it could be better.
However, it looks good in the sense that it could be a good game overall
Ive seen a couple gameplay footages of it. Looks really nice and fun to play. I could care less about the graphics.
why must they make good games suck? I dont think Ive ever liked a game that they re-made. why mess with the classics?
They aren't "remaking" anything. It's an original game in the '
Castlevania' series.
Im sorry everyone, I missread that.
This comes out today!
I can't wait to go to the mall with my 30 bucks
i have had a stash, for this since i got a DS,
Quote myself
"if a DS
Castlevania Ever were to comeout this stash is for that!)
back on Christmas-04
so anyone else have this game? i've been playing it lately and it rocks.
Yeah, I bought it this past weekend. It's a great time. And despite what people may think, the graphics are actually really nice. They have great style and the animations are nice.
How does the boss "sealing" function work? It seemed interesting.
When you waeken the boss enough a symbol shows up on the screen. That's your cue to draw a seal. If you fuck up you have to fight some more to weaken the boss again. You can fail many times before sealing a boss. There's an option in the menu to practice seals though, so if you're prepared you'll get each boss on the first try.
Awesome idea...
when i first heard about the seals i was like "...ugh!" but they give you plenty of time to whip out the stylus, and draw it. i've only picked up 2 seals so far, and they've both been really easy. i imagine they get harder as the game goes on though.
Julius mode is pretty cool. it's got the old style gameplay. i should put down MKDS for awhile and work on this game some more
I'm slightly irritated with the animations I've seen in the trailers, the main character seems to slide across the screen and occasionally move his legs.
I do want to pick this game up, but I really don't know if it's worth the $40...
I do have that $25 in trade credit at EB though...
Decisions decisions...
Animal Crossing vs.
Castlevania vs. more paying off of my Twilight Princess pre-order...

i got a used copy for $29.99, i'm sure you can get a used one for $35 in Canada, so it'll be like $10 with your trade in credit.

Sadly DS stuff is in short supply, EB doesn't have ANYTHING worth playing, unless you like Madden...
ok, so id pick this game over any other DS, game, becasue its
Castlevania, and its a direct sequal to one of my favorite Other
Castlevanias, and Soma, does seem to walk kinda slower than the animation.
i played it earlier after reading what you said about the animation. it looks fine to me. i don't know what you guys are talking about
yeah so this game rockz0rz my s0ckz0rz and R0th needs to stop being lame and charge his DS so he can play it.
Ha! Don't worry, I charged it earlier today while we were gone, and the light seems to be off now
so go play it!
