I remember times when the newspapers and such would have old NES systems listed in the classifieds for about $20 for a system and 20 games, now you can't even find them.

Then there was ebay... same thing, working system and 20 games for $20 plus shipping, now you're lucky to get that kind of lot for under $50 or 60 plus shipping.

There was even a time when Pawnshops wouldn't even buy the games or systems off people, now a working system goes for $40 here and the cheapest game is $5 a piece.

I finally got so sick and tired that I went searching. I've got one seller in the U.S. that wants $40 for his working system and 30 games. If he doesn't mind shipping it I'll pick that one up. Then there is another that won't reply back to my emails that wanted $125 for his complete working system with 50 games, some which were pretty rare.

So where do you all look for NES stuff? Garage sales and flea markets are almost a no go now that everyone has internet and knows about ebay. Everywhere I turn I hear the "Well I know I can get at least this much for it on ebay..." line which really pisses me off.

Start hitting the local thrifyt stores, I've found tons of my collection in places like goodwill and others.

Yeah, I know what you mean. And it isn't just video games...it's every rare item you're looking for when people are apt to respond that way. Everyone just that everyone has access to the Internet nowadays. Some people don't have the budget (I can barely afford it), and here, you're restricted to an hour at the library, which isn't long enough to get much of anything done.

Around here the thrifty stores are picked clean on a daily basis. I forgot to write about those too. I used to see NES Games in there for $2 a piece and now you'll never find them.

I just can't believe NES has become this popular again. God I feel old lol.

I usually poke around local no-name shops, sometimes I find something. There aren't very many opportunities around here, though.

Game Crazy (a part of Hollywood Video) around here is pretty good for older games. They had several NES carts, the best being Adventure Island (which I already have), and they were offering a N64 with expansion pack and a game (I think it was Dark, or something like that), for $74. Without the pack and game, it would have been $44, but I understand without the pack you're pretty much screwed for a lot of games.
At Game Stop, I actually had an experience where the guy behind the counter had never even heard of the Nintendo Entertainment System...

Like I said before the pawn shops here never carried NES Games before and now they are asking an arm and a leg for them. I remember just two years ago walking into a pawn shop and in the bottom of the junk bin finding two NES controllers and an N64 expansion pack. Got it all for $7

I don't know if you guys have one where you live but Funcoland had 3-4 baskets full of NES Games, im going to say it was close to 500+.

Nope nothing like that although about 4 hours away from me is a store called EB Games. They usually have used NES Games but they sell them exactlly what they are worth compare to internet/ebay prices. It gets expensive buying games at $5 - $30 a piece. At the pawn shops here they want $30 for Zelda 1 or 2, loose.
