I doubt that'll ever happen. at least I pray it'll never happen. I'd rather see Nintendo go out of business than see that happen.

The reality of it, is the NES, SNES, etc. won't be changed. No matter what happens to the company today, they can't change the past. They can't take our memories away.

Nintendo won't sell anyways. It's just stoopid "what if Nintendo sold" kinda talk, turned into "Microsoft might buy Nintendo!"...

first of all, i believe that fits perfectly.

second of all i think it would be awesome to see mario on xbox myself

think about this, Mario being a special charcter in Halo 3!!

honestly I can't see how it would be good...

#1) Halo isn't all that interesting... just another shooter in a market that's already packed with tech demo junk

#2) It further limits competition, meaning Sony and MS are free to continue producing their poor quality consoles, and us folk that enjoy quality, and the assurance of knowing we won't have to ship a console in for repairs twice a month have nowhere to go

#3) Mario is already in EVERYTHING, for example... he has most recently been announced to be in a DDR game, and an NBA game... a fat plumber doesn't fit there, nor does he fit in Halo...

I especially second Luke's points 2 and 3. (I can't talk about 1. I hate shooters anyway)

What would become of the gaming industry when Nintendo was in the hands of another company? That would mean loss of many innovations and high quality equipment.

"The fat plumber" ( ) really doesn't fit into such a realistic shooter. Anyway, even if they were overtaken, they would never allow to do this with their flagship character.

I'm not too happy about it for reasons I've stated in various other threads...

I'm sure Mario will continue to appear in other games, unfortunately. One of the better ones he appeared in was Mike Tyson's Puch-Out. More fitting.

It just seems like the flag character for systems are destined to appear in other games. I think Sega did a good job with Sonic when he appeared in some racing game on the Genesis (can't remember the name) as a rear-view mirror ornament. That's not bad.

I had actually heard mention of an article where Nintendo said they wanted to become more like Apple Computer, they know they're not #1 anymore, but they have a niche market and will remain in business and keep producing games (and superior hardware and software)

I looked at the screens and it looks terrible. I mean I wouldn't say anything about a good basketball game solely with Mario and other Nintendo characters, but this game just looks so ridiculous...

I don't see it happening. The people who posted there have good points. I believe it's just all propaganda that Microsoft has started. I look at it like war strategy. It's probably disheartening to alot of people that read something like that and buy into it rather quickly. If it were to happen though, I think gaming would take a step in the more boring direction. There aren't too many games on the Xbox that I like. I don't hate the system, but most games on it seem to bore me.

That's a typical British for me, always cynical. I had a teacher from England in Japan, he said similar things. Was quite cool.
