Ninja Gaiden II NES Review - i would have to say....

this game is respectively the greatest side scroller ever released for the nes. take ninja gaiden one(as good as it already is), improve it a couple of drastic notches in every aspect and you have this masterpiece. The graphics are crisp, pleasing and significantly improved over the first. More ninja abilities are added for smoother plyability as well additional items to add to the arsenal of available special moves. The addition of the orange shadows(clones) add to a nice touch as they are found to be extremely helpful when trying to eliminate any pesky aerial enemies. What makes this game such a gem is for it's smooth and fast paced gameplay flowing from level to level, the progressive difficulty and lastly the inclusion of anime like cut scenes which intice the player to unfold it's developing plot. I've neevr seen so much drama in an nes cartridge as this game provides.

It just can't get any better than this. This game is solely the reason why the ninja gaiden series has been revived by tecmo. Loyal fans will agree that the sequel is undoubtably the one that defined this series. Even part 3 is missing a lot of the elements to what made 2 such a popluar title.... in fact part 3 blows chunks in comparison to even 1. Play this throughly and you will not regret it.
