Originals Vs. All-Stars.

In SNES

Since NESEFER ruined this by removing the intial post that put everything in place, I'll restore it.

Which do you prefer, the original Super Mario Bros. games, or the remade and updated games on Super Mario All-Stars?

BEcause the NES versions have cooler Graphics!

The graphics are a bit different and it's cool to own the originals. At least it's cool for collectors. If it's only for the sake of playing, Mario Allstars is enough I think.

In my opinion i like the nes ones better. Its just something about that 8 bit look to it.

I found that all stars just didn't FEEL the same, the graphics, and the steel drum in the music... just not the same.

Yup and Mario in Mario 3 when you get the flower POWer looks alot cooler too.

And no 7's in SMB2's slot machine

Really? Never noticed that.

The originals are also more of a challenge as there's no save feature.

I noticed I like the originals better after all.

And Yes, there are sevens in the slot machine in smb 2 (A official graphic hack of Doki Doki panic or now in japan Super Mario USA) and this time there a trick since the slot machine in the super nes version now has motion you just have to wait after two panels after the one you want and youll get it. Except the trick dosent work with the 7 on the third slot you have to change your timing only on the 7 on the third slot LOL. It great and you should try it. Its like a collectors item.

nes vs snes

to begin with, the physics are different, you jump different hights/distances and you run at different speeds, there are faults removed that are fun to play with. some enemys are rearranged (the bee's at the beginning of lv2, smb2 are different, which youll notice if you use them to cross the gap rather than the carpet(like me))
there are other differences, but im too tired to work them out.

I totally agree with those who answered that the old original carts is the best! I feel the same about the music, graphics, etc...

i have allstars, but ill never play it. classic mario all the way.

I like NES version better but I'll play All Stars Version if I'm in the mood for SNES.

I have both, but I prefer the nes ones. The graphics and sound are just that more nostalgic than the remakes.

I like All-Stars better because of the save system, it's just a nice feature to have.

The save feature is nice. But it takes a bit away from the original games that were designed to play through them without saving.

I prefer the original over the All-stars version. Since I only have Super Mario Bros. 1 for the nes, I have to play all stars if I want to play 2, 3, or LL. The save feature is handy but it was way more fun to play all the way through. My ex boyfriend and I used to stay up for hours playing Mario Brothers 3 w/out the save feature. It was a lot of fun. Sometimes it is better to play old school. It can be more fun.

I got all_stars, its nice to hav the lost levels, but the changed too many things in 1,2,3 that i just cant like it as MUCH.

Personally, it's quite even, but despite the difficulty in deciding, i'm going with NES. Just because I <3 NES.

This has just made me want to play smb1 over again!

I like the allstars. I just prefer the better graphics. I grew up with the SNES too.

i like original the grapihcs look way cooler.

Originals for me.

bringing back an old topic, but... originals are sooo much better. if you like the SNES versions better, then you must be bad at the NES Games....

i cant do any of the cool things i do in Super Mario Bros.1 for all-stars!

it's really annoying, especially because i speedrun games. you cannot go throught the pirahna plants at all... and jumping on enemies you go higher up... thats a disadvantage for me. i hate a SMW feel to SMB1... it's just not right...

my times for both NES and SNES of Super Mario Bros.1
NES= 5 mintutes 9 seconds
SNES= 5 minutes 30 seconds... got this today.

but i mean a 21 second difference just because of the pirahna plants. i can improve the SNES one by about 5 seconds, but on NES only by 1 second...

i really like the errors and glitches you can do in smb1 for NES and dispise smb1 for all-stars. the only plus to all-stars for me is the lost levels, but it's still not really that much of a challange, i still enjoyed it though.

I agree that the originals are better as well.
