Donkey Kong Country 3 Scoring System

In SNES

I'm playing through Donkey Kong Country 3, already beat all the levels but I'm trying to get all the bonus coins, DK coins and banana birds. I'm wondering how the percentage scoring system works in the game, because my DK coins don't seem to count for anything point-wise.

I'm pretty sure that every level is 1%, as is completing all bonus mini-games in that level. I think each banana bird is also worth 1%, but how does the rest of it work?

I'm not sure, but I heard you can reach 105% in that game.

As for how much the coins count... my guess is 1% per complete level. Could be wrong though. If you have the manual you should try to check there.

Unfortunately, I don't have the manual.

The reason I'm inquiring about this is that I've found DK coins and not have my score changed, so I have a feeling that they're not worth 1% each, but maybe you get something for finding them all, other than the banana birds.

Is there only one coin in every level? Or more?
If there are more you most likely have to find all of those for getting %.
Just a guess. I haven't played DKC3 apart from a short try on an emulator.

Every level has exactly one DK coin but usually multiple bonus coins, and the number of bonus coins varies from level to level.
