What design do you like more?

In SNES

Do you like the US or the Japanese/European version more?

Photos of the two systems can be found on this site.

Edit by NES-Luke: I added the fouth option.

I prefer the Japanese/European version, but that's what I grew up with so I may be a bit biased. I like the curved edges and the whole general look of it. The design of the American one looks like it's not much of a step forward from the NES. I guess at the time that was the idea seeming as how popular the NES was.

You're on the exactly same standpoint as I am.

The gray box sucks. Japanese one is mucho better.

Actually I posted a 4th alternative ("none of them"), but it's not in the poll.
Can I fix that somehow? Or is 3 the most that's possible?

It's pretty obvious which one has the better design. Growing up knowing what the SNES looked like over here, I'll always remember it looking like that. Having seen the other style, though....

You voted for the Jap/Euro style, right?

I don't see an option for the rereleased SNES, it was more compact and smooth looking that the initial US release one.

I know that.
I also didn't use the option of the rereleased Super Famicom in Japan.
I wanted to have a poll on the originals.

Yes, thats what I have. I prefer the look of it, but the bigger first release one had the option of an RF connection. It's not that big of a deal, but both is better than just allowing Audio/Video input. More Options

the japanese european one looks more realistic i like it a bit better

i dont like that one at all looks to bland or sumthing

i like the us snes better, but i must say, that jap/euro gamecube looks way cooler than the us gamecube

Which GameCube would that be? to my knowledge they all share the same case. Other than the Panasonic Q of course, which is just a GameCube with DVD capabilities.

Yes, what are you referring to?
Colours? What colours do you have in the US?

Wow hmmm...id say the japanese had the cooler looking systems..but the us isnt that bad either. man i didnt know the japanese cube had a dvd or something? Heh i cant tell but it has to be something because i see a remote.

The Panasonic Q which is a GameCube/DVD player was released in Japan only, that could be what you're seeing.

Oh i thought it was something like that heh. Man they lucked out like always.

The Jap one, the red makes it look boss

... There's no red on a Super Famicom...

There's a red dot on the "Super Famicom" icon. And on the control pad (A button).

The Famicon is more red than the SFC, though...

I wish the USA had the Japenese/Europeon one and looks cool and modern.

the european one is cosmetically the same as the sfc aside from the printing of the name. so it also has the red on the logo and A button.

i somehow prefer the jpn/eur console, but the us cart design.. i dunno.
one thing though, i HATE playing with a us controller.. they suck. they feel all wrong with their concave buttons and wierd feeling buttonpresses.
anyone in the us, invest in a euro controller or two, it's definately worth it.

I've never seen a Euro one, I always assumed they were the same. Could you post some photos of what they look like, and point out the differences?

I prefer the Jap/PAL version, it's not only the one I own, but I think it's more stylish.

Euro SNES controller -

so, it's exactly the same, just that X and Y aren't concave... I don't see that as a major problem, certainly not worth importing a controller over

I have a controller just like that one in the link above . IT was called a Super Pad or something it was exactly the same.

I also looked at an image of the US controller and I don't really see a problem...

I like them both. Both look cool.
