Contra 3 alternate ending

In SNES

one of my favorite games of all time is Contra 3. ive beat it many times, but i havent recently beaten it on any difficulty beside easy. and now i cant remember the alternate ending. just what happens after the helocopter lifts the characters out of the cave at the end of the game on easy. if anyone could refresh my memory it would be appreciated.

Never played part 3, only 1 and 2 ,so i would know of that alternate ending, i like tihe first 2 though, great games.

I've only got to the llast level cuz i havent played it in a while. If a beat it i will be sure to tell u

ok i seen my bro palying with a game genie, so i joined him and yeah i know but hey its too crazy on hard.

So we made it to the end and got on the helicopter little did we know..

THAT SON OF A ***** MONSTER CAME BACK CLIMBING ON THE WALLS!
We was like shooting the crap out of it while we were hanging on the helicopter!

EDIT by NES-Luke: please avoid using profanity.

I'm proud to say that I have beaten this one on hard difficulty, and solo too (it took quite a bit of practice, and some special techniques that you don't use on other difficulties).

I think my reaction to the final boss was similar to drexegar's with the guy walking up the walls. See, the brain beast that you fight starts blinking his eye, then sprouts 4 legs, and starts climbing up the wall after you. You have to watch out for the legs as he's climbing, and constantly jump up and shoot downward, while you are holding on to the helicopter missile (like in the earlier stage). If you've made it that far already, you will probably defeat him. The ending is a little longer, but it must be forgettable, since I can't remember what all happens.

If anyone is trying to beat hard difficulty, I can think of 2 strategies off the top of my head. For one, when you are climbing the wall in stage 3 and have to battle the wall walker, stay near the top of the screen, and when he comes towards you, let go of the wall with the jump button, and just before you fall to your doom, press right, so you cling to the wall again, and commence firing. See, simply climbing down the wall in the hard difficulty will not do-he's too fast. Second strategy... when you take on the boss of level 5 (the overhead level), you spin too fast to counteract the spin with the L button. What I do, is simply stand ON the creature when you lose your first life. By doing this, you will die as soon as your invincibility is gone, but you will not spin, and therefore, you'll be able to blast the eye at point blank range for lots of damage (don't forget to use your bombs). Trust me, losing a few lives like this is better than losing a few and hardly getting any good shots in. Oh, and if you have a POWerful gun (especially the 'C' gun), pump several rounds into him with that gun, and just before you die, switch hands, so that you don't lose your C gun.

Hope this helps.
