Is this a really crappy deal on a Sega Saturn?

In Other Classic Systems

I was at the local thrift store and they have a Sega saturn (with the gun, controller and 15 games) but it's missing the RFU adaptor.

They want $54.00.

They said if it's still there in two weeks they will mark it down more.

So is it even worth my time if it gets marked down (what are my chances of finding this adaptor)?

Depending on which 15 games they are, it could be a great deal. If they're all sports, it's pretty crappy.

the AV/RF cable can be bought online for around $4

Also, if the POWer and reset buttons are round, you can get a simple to install 'mod board' that will allow you to play 'backups'. My buttons are oval, I have to disc swap, which sucks.

54 US.. I don't know. I got one with all cables and 10 games for 30 Canadian a few months back, even though it cam with a hurtin unit of a controller. I havent even touched it..really.

None of them were sports games. They were stuff like
Rayman, virtua games (like cop, fighter ect), Sonic 3D. It had some driving games (can't remember names off hand).

I'd probably go for it, if only for the games, that's like $3 a game, with a free console, even at $54

I'm with NES-Luke. It's a nice package deal.

I'm going to figure out my finances and if I can do it I'll buy it tomarrow. NES Luke has a point about the pricing (with games and all).

Plus it'll bring me one step closer to my dream of owning Bomberman for the Saturn. And I haven't seen a Saturn in ages around this area.

Well, I'd also need that gameshark thingy too.

For 54$ (with no sports games), it seems like a good deal.
If you have the money, go for it.
The adaptor shouldn't be a problem and should be easy to find.

Apparently if I would have been there a couple hours earlier I could have snagged it.

Today... not a good day. First I couldn't find anyone to help me bring home the Narnia display from work (I wanted to use it as a bookcase), then someone buys the Saturn that I wanted to buy yesterday but my husband talked me out of it.

GRRRR.

that sux!

I would've bought it for 100$ I used to love my SS and I still regret selling it

Your better of...Saturn is an awesome underated system, and if ya got converter you would be playin' some pretty crazy stuff like Radiant Silvergun...$50 is way to much though...I picked one up for $15 w/Panzer Dragoon 2 & Street Fighter 2010 Alpha @ a thrift store....
